Here is my mildly prepped 2008 STi, true all-season canyon-carving weapon... 4-wheeled swiss-knife. Shame as I only drive it 5Kmiles/year, I mostly use public transportation instead...

In summer my car is modified Volvo S40 T4 1998. The modifications list is pretty long. It has pulled at the dyno 440hp/580nm. It can do 300 km/h, but currently, the rev limiter is at 7000 rpm, so it makes 280 km/h. Not that I can do those speeds on public roads here 馃榾 I've done 275 km/h on standing mile competition. It's not bad in corners, I've driven on the track and it's manageable. Does have some torque steering of course. The push in the back when turbo surge comes from 4000 rpm (2 bar of boost) is awesome.

It has been faster on standing mile competition than these cars:
- Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG 5.5K (550hj)
- Porsche 911 996 Turbo 3.6T (420hj)
- Audi R8 5.2 (520hj)
- Bmw M5 4.9 (400hj)
- Chevrolet Corvette 6.2 (455hj)
- Audi S7 4.0T (420hj)
- Ford Mustang 4.6K (390+hj)
- Bmw M5 5.0 (507hj)
- Porsche Cayman S
- Lamborghini Gallardo 5.0 (520hj)
- Audi S4 2.7T (416hj)
- Porsche Panamera 4.8T (500hj)
- Bmw M3 4.0 (420hj)
- Mercedes-Benz E55 5.4K (500hj)
- Audi S5 3.0K (400hj)
- MB CL63 AMG 6.3 (444hj)
- Audi RS6 4.2T (450hj)

Very reliable car. Have done 26000 km's in 3 years. No issues so far.
I am considering building custom Amazon with Volvo T5 engine one day. Prefer building car, rather than buying one.

That gt6 is gorgeous! Need to pick up a friends mk2 to get it roadworthy as it hasn't been driven for 5 years. Bloody hot inside from what I have remember!

Thanks. Yes get it back on the road, they are great cars to drive. Haha I know the pain, they do get very hot inside from the heat emitted from the gearbox. Most GT6 drivers wear shorts for this reason 馃榿.

cool stuff 馃榾

We had the non-T4 but still turbo'ed (160hp? 180hp? Can't recall) first-gen V40 in the family a couple of decades ago... and the thing was pulling very hard in mid-range already and spinning the fronts all the time, it felt a LOT more than the official HP/torque rating. The fact that it was a light (~1200kg-ish iirc) obviously helped, too.

Now - how can one drag race and win with a FWD hard-turbo design, against 4wd cars with 1/3rd more HP kinda beats me, even if they have 500kg more to pull... any race videos?

Thanks.
In USA/Canada they only sold 2.0T models, because T4 did not comply with emissions regulations.

My car is about 1400kg, used a lot of dead sounding materials 馃榾
I don't drag race, with 400-1000 hp the result would be the same because it's not very good off the line. It should be 1000 kg's to make good ET. That weight is very difficult to achieve. And my car is road legal 馃榾 I install catalyst for MOT.
But, I've done 1/4 mile race and it's done 12,5 sec at 190 km/h.
For top speed, FWD is ok.

My T4 interior view making 171 mph standing mile:

I only do top speed competitions.
There's actually one of the fastest FWD cars in Europe in Finland that is Volvo V40 T4. 1000hp. Ran standing mile 339 km/h (210 mph). Top speed is about 355 km/h.

Nice thread and neat cars! Awesome to see so much vintage here!

I drive my Bicycle in the summer and pub. Transport in the Winter, as I live/work in Frankfurt I don鈥檛 need a Daily.

But on the weekends I take my little MGA for a spin if the weather鈥榮 nice!

Most guys who are into watches tend to be into cars as well. Here is my 18 z06. What are you driving?
I'm assuming you live in Florida based on the plates but in the first picture, the dealer plate frame is actually from a dealer 10 minutes away from my house. Small world Haha.

Macmulkin gave me a price that was about $5k lower than local dealers so it was worthwhile to buy from them even though I paid $1500 for shipping.

It's a really nice dealership located way out back of the main drag. No one knows it's there Haha. Tons of high end corvettes, new and old.

FJ40 Land Cruiser

Beauty! I had a red '74 in 78-79, boy I abused it with all kinds of aftermarket crap! Miss it, hard to find and very valuable now, they tended to rust out at least up here in the frozen north.

Nice I have a white Fiesta ST and Black focus RS in addition to my M pictured earlier. The RS was given to my Son, which now has a fully built motor w/forged internals, catless dp, ETS extreme exhaust, big turbo upgrade, tune, etc... Will try to get some pics to add to this thread once the weather changes.
