Had a little car show at my house Sunday for my youngest son's Webelo den. Got some pics with a few of the cars.

Here's my cheapie Seamaster 120 on a leather strap by a guy in the Ukraine. I wish I could find him again, I'd buy more. Car is a 1946 Rolls Royce limo. Number 83 built after Rolls began making cars after the war. Sold to a film director named Alexander Korda.

1984 Ferrari 308 GTB. Just like Magnum's. Sporting my Seiko Flightmaster on a nato strap. The Ferrari blew its water pump about 5 minutes later. Not looking forward to that job.

Because taking pics while driving is not a great idea, and I'm not a good multitasker. So, these pics were taken as I parked the cars.

1969 Jaguar XK-E. Series II, 4.2L. Speedmaster Moon Watch. The E-Type is a pure pleasure to drive. Endless torque, the long wheelbase rides like a dream and very little body roll for such an old car. I can see why the well-to-do raced these back in the day. Plus, the view over that long hood is spectacular.

Traded in my wife’s 8yr old Tribeca (134k miles) for a new 2021 Ascent with 3 miles on the clock. Goodbye Zoe, hello Ruby.

Out with the old...

In with the new...

We plan to use the class III hitch (hiding behind the bumper panel) to rent trailers and go glamping until we can buy a camper at the end of next year.

My wife has an Ascent. It is a good family hauler and have been happy with it. Congrats!

Love it!
I personally need more space though..and can't handle more than 560nm torque into 4 wheels anyway, 😀

first one is an old photo and neither of the beasts are in the family anymore. We needed a sensible family car and one that could tow our horse box around.

My wife had the Quattro Q7 6.0L V12TDI 500BHP 1000Nm Torque with ceramic brakes. She drove it for 90000Km but never really used it as the lunatic car it was, plus getting 16L/100Km was not the may west. I personally loved it. Once you cross the border from my place into Germany (25km) you are on the Autobahn with no speed limit. I used to love chasing Porsche/BMW/Audi.... at 280kph in a four wheel drive and the look on their face when they had to pull over to let me steam ahead. I only speed on the Autobahn where allowed, everywhere else I respect the speed limits to the letter. I Eventually relented and traded it for a black Q7 3.0tdi V6, instantly everything was halved, consumption, insurance, road tax etc.

The Silver G was the love of my life and I did everything for that car and in return it treated me like a pimp would his employee's. It would break down without fail every 90 days and need to be towed to the garage. It got so bad that I made a photo album of the car in various states of tow/repair/abandon. It was a G400CDI V8 Deisel and hands down it is still the worst G wagon ever made. I bought it from a buddy who got it new and he warned me about it but I didn't listen. I specialise in buying old Boeing 737's tarting them up and moving them on quite successfully. The G however, brought me to my knees. After eight years of ownership and nearly $50k in repairs and spare parts, in a final act of defiance it set itself alight..... but only enough damage that the insurance wouldn't cover it as it was still repairable. A chap from Montenegro saw it in the corner of the garage where like in Cheers everyone knew his name (Gunther the G) and offered me $10k cash to take it. I spent one hour explaining all the issues and he still wanted to purchase so I took his money and kissed Gunther goodbye. Still today, after all that heartbreak, it's still the best car I have ever owned and driven. its really hard to explain. A Land Rover Defender owner understands the sensation of driving something with the aerodynamic properties of a brick and the cornering ability of a Honda 50, but it was a joy to drive and its still the only car I know where G drivers salute each other while passing on the street.

Now I drive a VW T6 California 2.0 4x4 200bhp which is nice for a van. I love the fact I have a wifi router built in for the kids and a fridge I leave on all the time with drinks in it, a small kitchen to store food, a cooking stove, a sink, a shower, a closet for coats, a hidden safe, two double beds etc etc. its brilliant for long distance driving and I travel a lot so it has become my home from home while on the road. Its still not Gunther 🙁

I'd love to say I've been driving my toy this year but alas no, here's my Series 1, 1999 Lotus Elise 111S. Not like today's fast cars at only 143bhp but she only weighs in at around 750kg, I describe her as a legalised go-cart.

As I haven't been able to enjoy her, I've decided to sell her in the spring after a full service, new disks, pads etc. piece of mind for her new owner. Have to say she has been my 4th baby for over 14 years and the only car I ever dreamed of owning and in that time she's more than doubled in value so I take that as she's paid for herself over my period of ownership.

SWMBO already has ideas on how to spend the money but I'll also be getting a new piece to remember her by, the Silver Snoopy 50th.

I'll still be in Lotus ownership with my 1991 Elan M100 SE.

Finally got a new wiring loom for my 1995 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T and new tune in standalone engine management. The result is about 420hp. RWD. Has wider tires, but still loses traction easily.
There seems to be a limitation from the exhaust manifold. My tuner couldn't push the turbo more. Runs at 1,2-1,3 bar of boost.
Knocking too much and ignition table is not pretty.
The car has 450-650hp turbo by Turbosystems, tubular exh manifold, fuel system upgrades, clutch upgrade, oil lines upgrades, 50mm WG, 3" exhaust, Tein coilovers etc.
Next year will try better manifold. Should make 500 hp easily.
Of course, if you want to modify this car even further, the mods list can be rather lengthy 😀

Btw, Skyline GTRs cost a lot. And the prices are climbing!
I might get one Skyline as a backup from AUS 😀

Modified RB25 GTS gives you great feeling when pushing over 400 hp. 600 is magical number though where craziness starts. Btw modified RB25 Nissans can be bought for the same amount that new Speedmaster costs (15k).
