Cars. What are you driving?

Not trying to be a dick but a person did that to you, not a car. And no matter what rules/regulations are put in place, there will always be the select few that think those rules don't apply to them.
You came into a car thread share your opinion, and you were met with our opinion, that is how this works. So don't get upset if you catch some flack.
Having said that, I am truly sorry that you had that happen to you, I mean that.
I don't condone reckless driving, and I obey the rules of the road for exactly this reason.

Or if you have kids and a dog and need room for all their stuff but want to drive something fun. I just lease it as I agree I don't want to be left with an Audi off warranty.
Friend of mine a die hard Audi fan - 70K miles - he would go for another one. He said Audi is pretty much problem free up untill it pass 70k.

Just wish we could buy some wagons without the damn plastic cladding on it.
Volvo only the ones are holding up the fort in that department. V90 is an awesome car, but it starts at low $60k.

WTF?
I sincerely feel for you but please, pipping in on a thread where you have nothing good to say is hard to understand. Painting people with the "your kind" label because of your unfortunate accident doesn't mean that all car enthusiasts are "the kind" of people you think they are. I wonder who's behaving like a rectum here...

My wife had an XC90 (first year current model came out) and Volvo makes some beautiful cars but that thing had some serious reliability issues and the infotainment system is awful.

I feel like there is a select few car folks that understand wagons but rest of america still see them like one of these. Wish folks would wake up to what they really are.

I love wagons. They have a following, like the galaxy 500 (not my picture)

I used to own 2 Buick Roadmaster wagons like this (also not my picture)

My wife hated it. Guys would talk to me in the parking lot about the car and she couldn't believe it. What is wrong with men she'd say? Sold my 75k mile 1996 to my neighbor who coaches a soccer team. He still has it and i still wish i had it. Ls-7 engine same as corvette, self adjusting air shocks, double galvanized body. My great aunt was a nun. She was driving one with her sister friend the first time i saw one of these. Two 80 year old nuns in full white nun gear in this giant Pope mobile (roadmaster has a full moonroof across the rear seats). When I visited her they drove me around upstate New York in the thousand islands area and pointed out where Prince owned a little island. Totally surreal. Sister Marguerite and Sister Georgina. Sweet ladies.

That wagon was a blast to drive on a road trip. It floated and accelerated up any mountain pass. I never found the top end but would have liked to try if it wasn't so dangerous.

Wagons are great. Where would the world be without the Volvo 240? My god, the roads would be full of hippies walking and hitchhiking if there were no Volvo wagons.

Yep, I prefer a car-optional life so I can just stick to a sports car though 😉

Would 100% have either an E63 or RS6 if I were rich enough to live a car-optional life with 2 cars! Hell, even a nicely appointed E350 wagon would do just fine.

I like your thinking! I went a long-time in car-optional life and still live in a city to keep to walking as much as possible. I don't have space where I live to have a dedicated sports car but one of these days I will own an air-cooled 911.

...This will be my last post on this forum..

Your post is difficult to not respond to. Unless we've experienced anything like you have we probably can't understand how challenging and life changing it is. You have a right to express your anger.

I mean this sincerely, don't abandon the forum. Based on your posts, you obviously love watches and are a kindred spirit. You are one of the crazed ones like the rest of us and can't get away that easily.

I grew up in New York, and I'm moving back to Queens next week. One of the things I'm really looking forward to is redefining my relationship with my S2000... it's a terrible car to need for shopping and general transportation but as a toy lurking in the garage, waiting for a day upstate I think it's gonna be a lot more fun 😁

Good luck with the move man. Some great roads in upstate NY and the S2000 is a great driving car to take advantage of them.

Oh, absolutely. My mom lives in Rhinebeck and the entire 2-hour drive up there is a blast.

Well that makes at least 2 of us.
I was thrilled that the RS6 Avant was coming stateside, hopefully it sells well and that will motivate them to bring more of the goods over!
Hate to stoke the boiler, however do you folks get the big Volvo estates still? Seen the new V90 T 5 R design Allroad?

I did a smol wee when one came by recently.

Dunno about Allroads but we do get the V90. However, last I heard it was special-order only (as in, dealers can't order stock for their lots)

Do check them out, the interiors kick Audi into the weeds, and the V90, well....wish I had the driveway space.

We do have the V90 (and 60) in regular wagon and "crossover" options.

Cross Country versions Of v60 and v90 are on lots (one with plastic body stuff like allroad). Regular wagon versions are special order.

Oh man upstate NY is God's country. A LOT of good vintage watches out that way too!
