Hello forum,

I just spotted this sm300 probably issued by Canadian Air Force.
A similar example (166.024) is documented in the book “seamaster vintage” by Alberto Isnardi.
What do you think?

Curious as to what you base your statement "probably issued by Canadian Air Force" on. The seller's description seems vague (do we know the seller here?). Your evidence? Thanks.

It is interesting, I have never seen one come up. Unfortunately it is an ugly watch, case awful, dial poor. Even the exciting bezel appears to have been subject to repair. I would inquire what the EOA says with regard to which country it was delivered to? This is missing in the description.

In the book “Omega Seamaster Vintage”, it is documented a 166.024, serial 27.9 mil, big triangle dial and same bezel. The extract of the archive issued in 2008 state “Delivered to the Canadian Army with special bezel”

Not sure what you are saying as that is not a BT.

Which EOA are you referring to? One for the watch at issue or the one in the book?

The eBay listing shows EOA with delivery to Sweden. Or at least that is what I can make out.

As I wrote, the one in the book.

Now that the EOA has been provided, we can forgot the story of Canadian Armed Force.

Perhaps the Canadian Air Force had an external base in Sweden 😉

About the watch: In my eyes absolutely not desireable. Dirty lume, strange bezel, (slightly) polished case, some dings and dangs.
And i see no military background as mentioned. Non solid springbars, no military sign on the backcase...

Would skip.

Time to respond: did anybody actually read the eBay description? In my auction description I never mentioned, that this might be an issued watch. Ever. I tried to describe the bezel , which was mentioned by others as belonging to an elusive Canadian Mil. Watch. Which I have never seen with back engravings. Or seen at all in the flesh. Even offered to replace it with an old Sea 300 bezel from our repair stock. And keep that mil. Bezel. Quite happy to do so. The other one, I bought at the London watchfair in the 90's , was sold to an well known military watch collector from Italy for a very good price. If somebody here thinks, that eBay description was done to deceive potential buyers, why would I include a Swedish delivery EoA ? The OP labelled my auction as a possible Canadian military watch.....So, that' s about it. Kind regards. Achim

I don't want to offend you, but I personally (!) wouldn't even mention this whole military background thing in an ad if there is no evidence of this origin (for the whole watch or only individual parts).

That bezel is Uber rare and only seen on the Canadian Airforce Seamaster. It is definitely worth mentioning!
People treat eBay like a department store these days, and it annoys me. Look at the pictures, read the description and take a chance when you have weighed up the information.
People click buy, don’t do the research and then ask for returns, discounts and leave poor feedback. eBay has made this easy for buyers and it’s a worse place for it. Grrrr!

I should fit the old, normal bezel and re list. And list the Canadian Mil. Bezel extra to give a Canadian with that mil. Seamaster 300 the chance, to complete his project . Looks like the cleanest option. Any comments ? Kind regards. Achim

With respect, the original advert is a little unclear.
Imo.

the pleasures of OF .... no intention to buy, no clue, but lets bang it so the seller and the buyer have no fun.

keep the bezel and sell it to someone who knows what he gets ....

........had many PM`s. and have decided, to fit the Omega Seamaster 300 with the swedish delivery EoA with an old normal bezel and sell it that way. and sell the canadian bezel extra on the bay. does not make sense to collectors to keep it the way, we bought it. thanks for all your input. kind regards. Achim

Good choice. You will probably get more for selling the Canadian bezel separately anyway 😁
