I'd appreciate some help with this one. I am sure it is obvious to some but I cant quite put my finger on it.

The reason I think it is a redial is that the gold hour markers arrow don't always appear to precisely line up with the black minute track. The 12 marker in the subdial appears to have bled a bit as well - but I am not sure if that was common with these types of dials.

Hands have clearly been relumed and there's some scratching to them.

    Any help much appreciated

I could live with the marker issues you pointed out, but my problem is with the vertical line dial finish which doesn't have the look of age. I can't be any more specific than that and I may well be wrong, but in any case the hands are scratched quite badly and as you say, are clearly relumed. I think it's had a makeover. It would be interesting to see it in different light as this can dramatically alter the look of a dial.

I hadn't even picked up on the vertical lines - I didn't think these had been printed but were the texture of the actual dial itself.

They look to me like varnish applied with a paintbrush.

The price is right but it seems it is definitely a redial. The search continues...

    Thanks everyone.

It’s not horrific but it looks like a clear redial to me.

The general finish, quality of some of the print and dashes where there should be lume at the tip of the hour markers.

I thought that was the case. This thread was more hope than anything else. I am keen to get my hands on a nice clean example - this ain't it!

    Thanks
