What research did you do yourself?

What research did you do yourself?
I bought the watch from a dealer in Europe over twenty years ago, and I want to know its current value.

I'd suggest identifying the reference number of the model and then searching for actual sale prices, not asking prices. Assuming it's authentic, it appears to have been heavily polished on a buffing wheel, which makes it less desirable, so keep that in mind as well.

I have not polished it at all since I bought it, probably wear and tear, and I know it is authentic, I paid 8500 $ in 2001 or so, I guess, for it at the time. I tried to get the reference but could not get it. In all case, thanks a lot for the help.

That model on the bracelet was ref 2196.20.00. I've not found it on a leather strap anywhere. If you were to show the caseback, it might help to identify it if indeed it is an LE.

I don’t think it was ever available on strap, most likely it is a Ref 2196.20 that has had the bracelet melted for gold value and the head has then been very polished. With the condition I would put it somewhere in the $5-6k range because of the softened bezel and the watch not being an original reference without its bracelet. Original good condition 18K models on strap with 18k deployant clasp are around $7-8k so while quite cool, this would be slightly below that.

There’s a lot of information on these here: https://stories.omegaforums.net/the-seamaster-pro-chrono-diver-family/

It actually did exist and the exact model number was 2696.20.22, but like mentioned before it might have also been a 2196.20 with the bracelet that was melted, the prices for a descent 2196.20 are around 17-20kus a mint one with full links and boxes can go a little higher in this economy , for one on a leather strap it can be closer to 11-12k us but they do not show often up for sale. If you are looking to sale it to get the most out of it would be to get the original strap and hopefully you have the original deployment clasp from that era (because with the price of gold the clasp alone even on the secondary market can fetch as high as 2-3kus. So ''as is'' you can hope to get around 9-10k if it's on a cheap leather strap with regular buckle, if you do have the deployment clasp you should buy the original leather brown croc strap for around 500$ and with that and the 18k clasp you can easily aim to get around 11-13k us. Let us know and good luck
