Can we ask questions about auctions?

There is a watch on catawiki but I can't quite tell whether the dial is original - are we permitted to post those on the forum to get thoughts from people? I believe so but I wanted to check before I posted.

You are allowed to ask questions, and other people are allowed to bid.

I haven't posted (except to sell watches) since about 2004 - that is when TZ was the only forum. Back then, I remember we would include in the title of the post that it had large pictures (MODEM BURNER). The pictures would take soooooo long to load. At that time, there were really only a few dozen people that were interested in Longines watches, at least on the internet. I wish that I had been able to save enough money back then to purchase a 13zn or two - they were cheap back then - around 1000 USD.

Here is the watch in question:

https://www.chrono24.com/longines/l...ngines-7008-2-70oro-18-carati--id15356546.htm

Does the dial look right? The lettering for automatic doesn't quite seem right to me for the time period but I am not sure. Also, it doesn't say swiss or swiss made which I see on pretty much all Longines watches.

Thoughts?

It's better to post the pica instead of a link, people here don't like to click on a link.

The seller can take nice clear pics of the movement, but not of the dial?

@killer67 - I don't know what it might have been originally. The hand/dial combination is similar to a jamboree but I haven't seen a similar combination on a 29x movement.

I鈥檓 not sure the jamboree ever had a date

Here is my 1964 Jamboree as a dial comparison. Obviously not the same watch, but the dial features should help - though the auction images are pretty bad.

Longines made a few models with the date window at 12, but they tended to be only their high-end offerings. I could be wrong, but I've only seen Conquests, Flagships and a few oddball Grand Prize models with date windows at 12.

I鈥檓 curious what鈥檚 up with the auctions section on this forum? It looks like it鈥檚 been a long time since it was last used.
