Can someone verify this Omega watch?

I recently purchased this watch on Ebay and when I received it, something looked a bit strange. I realizes that the 6 on the dial is cut and if you look closely between the border of the light and dark brown shades it's pretty uneven.

Type: Mechanical manual wind
Suggested year: 1947
Model: Ref 2505
Caliber: 265
Jewels: 15
Serial number: 11891611

It's also from Uruguay. I don't know if that might have something to do with the chances of this watch to be a forgery.

did you try a Google image search on "Omega 2505"?

I have searched the model and so far the watch does resemble the image searches. I'm thinking the dial must have been repainted

The uneven paint and minute markers are clear signs that it's a redial.

Okay so if it's a redial would this mean that the dial is actually not original or would it mean that there has been a repair on the original?

Agreed on the 'repaint'/ redial. (Redial is typically used to mean the original dial was refinished) The minute tick marks on the furniture is definitely odd looking.

There are other significant issues, such as the level of polish and crown, that would make this a 'pass'.

I just received a redial bought on eBay too. I immediately filed an 'item not as described' return request and eBay gave me return label to ship back. So it is on the way back and I will have my money in about 10 days.

This is what it said

You forgot to mention the twelve high resolution photographs provided in both eBay and Auctiva format.

The condition of the watch was clearly evident, I think the seller will consider this a case of "buyer's remorse".

Edit, just saw they are the same as in the first post.

'Buy remorse' is fine. You lost the round trip shipping but get back $490.
