Can I use the 2225.80.00 chronograph under water?

So as a rule, water resistance ratings for watches are only promised if the crown is down/screwed down and if the chrono-pushers aren't touched. However, I recall seeing in the manual for my Speedmaster, that the chrono pushers could be used in the 300M Seamasters.

I'm about to receive an older seamaster (https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-diver-300m-chronograph-41-5-mm-22258000) that I just picked up that claims to be a 300M, and has a Chronograph. However, I'm not sure if the bit in my Speedmaster manual applies to this particular one, and was hoping others might know.

That said, I've been enjoying my Brosnan Bond Seamaster Automatic quite a bit! Though, there have been a few times where I've missed the Chronograph on my Speedmaster. SO, I saw a 2225.80.00 (above!), fell in love withe the coloring/dials, and decided to pick up a well-loved one for my collection. It'll be here in a few days. SO, I guess this thread doubles as a 'new watch day' thread 馃榾

You can use the pushers, yes, but I would definitely have the seals and gaskets checked & inspected, especially if service history is unknown or you don't personally know/"trust" the seller.

Edit: EDIT: it is my strong understanding that Omega has a special Pusher seal system that allows the pushers to be used under water without issue, however, this seems like the kind of thing that one wouldn't want to get wrong.. so I'll add the caveat that someone personally experienced with this should chime in.

Thats a fantastic article, thanks! That answers quite a few other questions too! Though, it does leave me concerned that the rubber strap I picked up for it won't fit great, but at least it isn't expensive.

AND from the looks of it, I picked the most attractive one 馃榾

I definitely need to have it serviced someday in the near future. I don't really swim very often, so the water resistance concern is probably 'moot', but it is more of a 'could I if I wanted'. My current Seamaster hasn't been (and likely isn't at risk to be) 300 mm in the water, let alone 300m 馃榾

Well. It arrived! It is in a good level of "preworn" condition to the point I can use it as a bit of a "beater" watch. I resized the bracelet and it fits/feels nice, but I'll probably swap a rubber strap at one point.

It is QUITE thick with much of it in the case back. Even so, it is by far my "largest" Omega, and likely the biggest I can get away with/feel comfortable with.

I had the same watch. It is a massive piece of steel; I was forever banging it against doorframes, desks, countertops!

Yeah, I figured when I saw the thickness that I'll have the same problem! But the idea of a "beater" chronograph kind of spoke to me. The previous owner did all the first scratches, so I don't have to feel bad about it getting beat up further.

@ErichKeane congratulations on the watch! I was thinking of getting one myself. Where did you find yours?
Mine popped up from a reseller/dealer on WUS
But eBay/C64 has plenty as well.
