From the US.
Thank-you.

Where did you get this counterfeit item from?
Exactly where in the US? Anywhere near NJ?
Hmmmm, that's about 4 hours away - just a bit to far to pay a surprise visit to the seller. 🙁
Respectable Member Seamonster...... hope for a satisfying result.
Are the laws in the US and Australia, the same?
Sorry, I don't know, but I would assume the laws are relative to who issued the card.
You should have a toll free number on the card where you can speak with a representative.
Respectible Member Seamonster -
Would you be willing to post a link the original listing (or the eBay item number) here?
At least we will know who not to do business with.
Sorry for your troubles,

Your advice is appreciated.
I shall go to the bank to find out, regarding this chargeback. Hopefully, the bank will talk to me, since the credit card belongs to my 'big-boss'. I do not have a credit card.
Thank-you.
No point going to the bank in person, just get your big-boss to phone the credit card company initiate the charge-back process 😉
Where's the seller located?
Credit card charge-back might be your best/only option here, if they're willing to.
On the few occasions I've done it in the past it was all done over the telephone by calling the toll free number on the credit card or the monthly statement. I've never had to fill out any paperwork in person and I can't imagine the process is any different where you are.
The representative will collect the details of your case and based on the facts from all parties make a determination as to whether a return and refund is to be granted. It's quite like the process used by eBay/PayPal, who's deadline was unfortunately missed.
I will now have to prepare the case on a separate piece of paper and probably attach it to the form, since the space provided for reason/s is limited.
How long does it take to write "I bought a Rolex clasp that was proven to be counterfeit."? 😕
Seriously, they don't want your whole on-line purchase history nor a long winded account. Brevity is the key, and if they need more information they'll ask - otherwise they'd give you a notebook.

I profusely appreciate your advice and this comes timely.
The technicians at RSC Sydney confirmed, it is a counterfeit. Unfortunately, they are not able to give me this confirmation in writing. However, they give me permission to quote them, when I lodge my complaint to the authorities. Is this good enough?
Thank-you.
