Can I make a claim for a counterfeit item?

I was grilled and accused of being careless, not being able to tell the difference between a counterfeit item against another which is genuine, before placing a bid for her husband.
Respectfully, It's a valid complaint if you're bidding on their behalf. Why wasn't he bidding on the auction himself? It seems like you've made things much more complicated than they needed to be.

Also, Are you going to show any photos of the item in question? 140 posts in to this saga and I don't think we've seen any.

Your comments are appreciated.

This buyer-friend of mine, spends more time inter-state than here in Sydney and that being the reason, usually he would ask me to be on the look-out on eBay and also the local dealers, for items of interest to him. Over the years, this is the first time I got caught with an issue, like this.

It must be an oversight on my part, not to include the pictures of the buckle in this thread. I am sorry and here they are.

Thank-you.

That's counterfeit? Looks damn good to me. Wonder if it was grey market and Rolex took their black / white approach?

Certainly not an expert on these, but it looks pretty good. Usually they mess up coronet or the St Bernard. These seem ok. I'll be really curious to hear what our more knowledgable members think.

The dog looks a bit more suspect in this shot

Your opinion is appreciated.

If there was a slightest doubt that the item is not genuine, I would not have bid it, for my friend. I would have first asked for advice from respectable forum members, here.

The issue arose when I asked another source, what leather-band has to go with this buckle. Instead of answering the question, I was told that the item is a counterfeit and run miles away. I then brought it to the attention of the buyer and he expressed unhappiness, alleging that I wanted to return the item because of remorse. Subsequently, I brought it to the local RSC for a physical inspection and they confirmed, the item is a counterfeit. I would rather they say, they did not know.

Thank-you.

Then all you need is written confirmation from that RSC that it's fake and you'll win the dispute.

Apart from this, everything else appears to be good.

It will be good, if the confirmation can come in writing, especially from RSC.

Thank-you.

Again.......wish you the best with this resolve.😎

Your kind words are appreciated. God willing, it will be resolved soon.

Buying watches/accessories for close-friends, has to stop. Nowadays, one has to be an expert to tell apart, the good, the bad and the ugly.

However, my last assignment will be this: looking for a friend's son a bi-color solid gold Omega Constellation 'C', in top original condition. As always, there is no monetary gain but this friend of mine, has promised to lend me some money, so that I can buy back my vintage Omega Seamaster 300 big triangle, which is now in the collections of a gentleman collector-friend, abroad. It is a promise I have made to this collector and it has to be delivered.

Thank-you.

2 ideas for you Seamonster:
-Post this picture on VRF: (http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/)
Ask for an opinion. These guys will know.
- Contact Eric Ku: ([email protected])
He is the foremost vintage Rolex expert, maybe in the world.
He's a good guy too. Tell him John from Chicago told you to ask his help.
His opinion is much better than a Rolex dealer

Good Luck

I appreciate your concern, regarding this issue.

I shall get in touch with Mr Eric Ku and mention you. Perhaps, I should also refer him to our thread at this forums, so that he will get a big picture of this issue. We shall then see what he has to say.

Thank-you.

I don't know if you want to ask him to
read 8 forum pages. He doesn't need that
to tell if it's genuine. Keep it simple!
