Can anyone see anything 'wrong' with this one? Seamaster Cosmic 2000

I'm not an Omega expert, but I've seen something I quite like while looking for a birth year watch.

Do you think this looks 'legitimate' - any obvious warnings? I was wondering if the bezel had been levered off at some point based on marks on the case near the lugs. Does it look overpriced?

As far as I was able to work out, it's a correct model for the year but there seems to be a bewildering number of Seamaster Cosmic variants.

Not without opening the link. Please provide photos, not just the link.

Marks top & bottom do look like someone attacking the bezel.
The seller has provided no meaningful pics of case back or of bracelet/ buckle.
No movt. pics.

Considering the pics are good quality & the seller professional, I assume he is hiding something.

Sorry here are photos from the listing. There's a video too but the case back is not visible at the angle it's taken from. I've asked them for photos of case back, bracelet/clasp and movement.

Best guess is a 74... no way to be sure without an extract of the archives from Omega.

I can't understand why you would want to pay that much for what's not even a dive watch AND has a day wheel in French. Especially when the same seller has the 60m true diver here:
https://www.chrono24.co.uk/omega/seamaster-cosmic-2000-big-crown--1973--1600--id8595785.htm
which appears to have its original bezel and is actually £50 cheaper! It's still top end and then some but a far better buy than the first one you linked to. And yes that one does seem to have some bad scratching to the case.
I would post an image but the page won't let me copy it.

That was the other reason I posted here - I didn't know how far out those prices were or weren't. What's the realistic range for a really nice condition one of these?

I prefer the 74 one visually (I'm looking for a good and appealing to me 1974 watch) - but I think I'll just have to keep an eye out, the French date wheel is a bit offputting, shame as the dial otherwise looks fantastic. Apparently it was serviced by Swiss Time Services.

I own one of these althought not in the nicest condition. The bezel is what holds the middle case in place.

So to open the watch you must first remove the the bezel, then take the crystal out to get to the movement.

The 41 million serial number dates my watch to 1978. Although I cant guarantee the movement in my watch is the original one from factory it seems to be your only reference and its not a 74

I dont speak french but Im sure that date wheel is in spanish.

It is definitely overpriced

It could be either, the wheel just happens to show the only two days that begin the same way in both languages. It's not English though, which is the real point....😉

Cosmic 2000 60m divers seem to be making around £800-1000 on ebay now without proof of service. I don't know what the non-diver day/date models make as I haven't been following them, but a bit of research on completed ebay listings and elsewhere on the Net should give some idea.
