Caliber 1438 Second Hand

Recently obtained a Seamaster 300 mid-size with caliber 1438 movement. All my other Omegas are newer and automatic. Is the second hand on the quartz movement supposed to sweep or stutter?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Motor pulses are every second, so there will be a tick once per second.

If the battery voltage drops below 1.3 Volts, the End Of Life indicator will kick in, and the watch will tick 4 seconds very rapidly then pause for 4 seconds, then pulse 4 again. If it’s doing this, you need a new battery very soon.
