Cal 30T2Rg question

Good morning,
I'm quite new in the world of 3 hands Omegas, feel much more comfortable in chrono universum, but I'm helping my friend to restore quite nice Omega with 30T2Rg. I have already discovered the differences (more or less in 30T/26x family, I know that 30T2Rg is more or less 262, I know bunch of details differs from regular 260, I assume with the level of finishing.
So the issue is as follows: the balance staff is broken, As I found in product card - 262 balance staff is different than 260, I found the info about deluxe version of this part. Is it only cosmetic difference - highly polished or more carefuly machined, or the parameters of this staff are different - length/diameter etc? So the question simply put is if it is possible to use regular 260 balance staff in 30T2Rg or won't work or if even would work, we all finish in hell, because it's like wearing flip-flops to tuxedo?

It may just have a longer balance staff to be used - but it is one of the parts that characterize the 262/281.

I would rather be looking for an original one. Part number 262-1327, careful because later furniture will be glucydur rather that the original bimetallic

I had the same problem and asked Erich (author of the Omega 30mm Chronometer book) and he replied me:
Nimm eine von irgendeiner cal 30 oder T1 oder T2 aber nicht von 26x oder 28x weil die sind nicht bimetallisch sondern Glucydur (monometallisch und uncut).
Du wirst nämlich keine originale alte (nicht Omega replacement) unruh von 30 Rg finden...

My friend who is a watchmaker could fix the balance staff for my newly bought Chronometer. If you need a balance staff, I think, he can fix it and I cand send it. I think, it cost around 50Euro here in Sweden.

I understand but you refer to balance wheel. My balance wheel feels perfectly well, all I need is to change balance staff. The question is if 30t2Rg/262 differs in length or diameter from the rest of the family 😀

Yes it differs. I don’t know in what sentence but my watchmaker changed first to a balance staff for 30t2 and it was not good enough. Later he ordered a balance staff for rg and it solved the problem.
