C-shape accuracy

Dear All,

I recently got this Constellation C-shape from 1969 ..
see "https://omegaforums.net/threads/final-purchase-c-shape.114743/"

This watch was in need of a service ! It is now done since last week. I like to observe my watches, in terms of accuracy. This C-shape is astonishing .. since last thursday it has shifted 4sec late .. amazing (I was fortunate to be able to set the watch precisely to the second .. not easy since there is no hacking second).
I suppose my watchmaker had a bit of luck when regulating .. I have several watches that are within COSC but none to that precision !
Thank you for your attention,

Love the watch!

Got myself the same watch recently just because of the beautiful linen dial. Now I need to find a gold one with a white linen dial. This combination would be perfect IMO.

Maybe you could put on a light or dark brown suede strap without visible stitches which IMO would enhance the look if this watch since the leather strap IMO is somehow to flashy (reflects to much light).

Now all you need is to find the position that gains time overnight, assuming you don't wear your watches to bed like I do.

You are very right about the importance of the choice of the strap .. as you can see on the first thread about that watch, I had installed a vintage brown leather strap from Martu .. a nice strap indeed, but I thought the strap now on the watch (dark green ostrich leather) was better .. but the
search will continue till it would be no discussion anymore (hopefully) I change straps regularly on my watches ...

Would make sense ... but I keep the watch at night and really I aint gonna try to improve that performance ...

Morning All,
Since I tuned the watch, 16 days have elapsed .. the watch is 20 sec late !!! i.e. 1.25sec/day .. amazing for a 50 years old lady !

@Heisen0erg : The never ending search for an appropriate strap : here is a purple caiman leather strap

What do you think ?
Thank you for your attention,

That strap is too wide for the lugs, isnt it? Looks like the leather is squashed around the lug area. Nice colour though

You might like try a tan ostrich strap. I’ve got one on my 1970s Quartz and it works well - similar colouring to your C-case:

Great to hear she’s keeping good time for you! The movements in those 1960s Connie were some of the best Omega ever made.

Ah the 19 mm lug dilemma ! Been there myself.......not too many 19 mm straps around to choose from, and some taper down to 17 mm at the buckle end

I got these two teju lizard straps for my C-case, and the grain works well with the dressy aesthetic of the Connie. Mine is obviously stainless steel, but I think both colours would work for yours. I also love mine on the mesh bracelet.

Thank you all for your opinions and suggestions !
@wilderbeast : I do not fancy the teju lizard leather and never have .. but the Ostrich light brown could be a nice combination .. I'll try !
Cheers,

Glad you got a good movement! This is very good, but not amazing, The 1960s 500 series movements were some of the best mechanical movements put into a production watch. It was a point of pride for Omega.

Good Evening,
@wilderbeast : Further to your suggestion .. a Hirsch "Rivetta" strap .. better ?
This is a nice choice! The strap has enough texture to be quite dressy, but the stitching still has a sporty vibe. A really good strap which will be like a chameleon in different situations and with whatever you wear with it. I approve! 👍

I agree with you about tan straps on some gp/gc watches. This is as close as Genèves get to a C-case but it does have a 552 movement
