I have found a gold capped constellation cal 561 for £650, the case has a lot of scratches though, is this worth it?
How are we supposed to know from one piss poor photo? Movement photos, case back, etc. if you want a serious answer.

IIRC This watch was discussed in a recent thread
I recognise the gap and the ding next to the crown

@Peemacgee, thanks. I'm on the move, would you be able to give a link, please?
just had a look
well I should have my coffee before I post (my excuse is it's early here)
the watch I referred to was indeed a GC .004 with a gap and a ding but not the same one you posted

thanks a lot, I sure have some reading up to do. a very new to the vintage watch world, but this one seems original and I "think" the price is OK compared to the competition.

what's your opinion? worth getting it with all those scratches?

depends on what you are after
a new crystal and a sympathetic 'rub' (not polish) would improve the watch enormously
(Often scratches stand out in macro shots but not so much on the wrist)
the case has lost a little definition but the lug facets are still clearly visible
pics aren't the best but the dial looks correct

not very long ago you could get a very nice dome dial hidden crown Connie ( especially gold cap) for this price but the market is moving
Not a collectors piece but a nice enough watch
It will need a service - regulator shoved over to one side and gasket missing
Personally I'd put more money into a better example but it depends on your budget

@Peemacgee, thanks a lot. I don't seem to find 60s constellation anywhere near this price around now, but may be should wait a bit more. Was thinking of negotiating the price down, but not sure how much a rub and new glass will cost... Thanks for your feedback, the search goes on 😀

A service (the 'rub' would come free 😉) around £200
A new crystal around £50

Is a S$ the same as a US$? (regarding the first watch inquired about).

Hello again, I have found another example of 18ct rose gold, would you guys recommend this for USD 1.6k?

Not that price with that dial.
Yeah the dial is pretty bad, but the price seems to reflect that when I compare to other listings ... what do you guys think about caliber 562? and could you tell if the parts are not original?
