Hi all, I have the opportunity to buy this 176.001 Seamaster for $2,500. It is a pretty cool and unique piece, but wanted to ask folks who know more than me if they think this is a good/fair price. It is keeping good time but most likely will need a service.

Price seems fair to me. Nice looker and the bracelet is always a nice plus.

This is a much rare reference. Tge only thing out of place there is the central sweeping seconds hand, it should be trialgle shaped. Said that 2500$ is a fair price!

Nice watch and less common than the 176.007. As mentioned before, the sweep hand is wrong. Service in the US for this watch will probably be in the 600-1000$ range (without parts). With all that in consideration, I would research what these sell for (probably easier to find sales of the 176.007) and factor in your after purchase costs.

Nice watch. In my opinion a fair price for the watch in this condition will be 2000$ so maybe you can negotiate a little..

Good price for the watch if it didn’t need a service. I have a silver dial 176.001.

Lovely panda

Owned one and it's a delightful reference. With the wrong hand, bracelet wear, and need for service I would try to talk the seller down to closer to $2000 as well.
