Casually perusing ebay this morning, and came across what at first glance appears to be a very cheap Seamaster Companion/technic dialPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network. From the account "Quality Omega Watches 4 You" (which given what I'm about to share seems a questionable choice of name). Pictures grabbed for reference (in case it disappears from eBay, or reappears here): Dial looks good, hands look good, 601 movement (serial number 25019548) looks good, case back is correct 135.001 so that's good... but the case looks a little bit off. That's because it's a 135.070. Which should look like this (pinched a couple of @Davidt pictures for reference of what a 135.070 is): Now I'm not saying this isn't a tempting project that you could return to spec at the right price... but that's not what it's being sold as. So, heads up, buyer beware, if you're diving in to this, know that it's not right.
Googling the movement number throws up an eBay listing from July, in which the movement and dial were in a different case (136.005), and the seller was honest about this probably not being the right case for the dial and movement: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMEGA-Se...t-for-parts-numbers-don-t-match-/153556698333Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
He's withdrawn the listing... and frankly, I think he's an idiot rather than a crook. Me: Hi there, I had a question about this watch. You have it listed as a 135.011 - which it has the case back for, and is the reference you would expect to see the dial inside of. However, the case is a 135.070. Did you replace the case? Or was this how you found the watch? Either way, it is not a correct 135.011 Best Chris quality-omega-watches-4-you: the case was brought from a watch dealer who listed it as a 135.011 Me: Searching for the movement serial number brings up a listing from July, when the movement, dial, and hands were in a different case (correct case, but with wrong case back) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMEGA-Se...t-for-parts-numbers-don-t-match-/153556698333Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Did you replace the case? quality-omega-watches-4-you: yes Me: Ok. So it's still not in the right case. You have a 135.011 case back, and a 135.070 case. quality-omega-watches-4-you: if your not happy retract your bid Me: I'm asking you to be honest in your listing, and tell people that it you have a watch made out of parts, which has a 135.011 case back, and a 135.070 case. quality-omega-watches-4-you: When i brought this watch it was in a 610 case so i brought a 601 case from a reptable watch parts seller who listed it as a seamaster 135.011 i have a few of thease cases and they all look the same quality-omega-watches-4-you: i have decided that im adding this watch to my collection
