I found a couple of old Bulova boxes yesterday.

Have a look.

I learned from @Canuck that Rolex used Canadian cases for our market. I wonder if the Sterling Tower was used by multiple brands?

The red box needed a bit of gluing. The brown one has handwriting dated in the late 1920s.

Cool history.

For your entertainment.

If my guess is correct, this was primarily during WWII when Swiss made cases were unavailable. I gather that, since the Swiss were not involved in the war (neutral), in order to remain neutral, there were restrictions on who they sold to. I have been dredging my memory trying to recall if I have ever seen a watch dialed Rolex in a Canadian made case. And they used generic Swiss movements (cal. 59, aka FHF 30) in Canadian cases. Dial names were generic, not Rolex. About the “Sterling Tower” I know nothing.
