Evening all,

We will be going to Toronto for a week in March and I was wondering if anyone had any places they would recommend for browsing. We will be staying in the Entertainment District w/o a car if that matters. Thanks in advance (and if you have any good dining suggestions in the District, that would also be welcomed!)

And what is a post w/o a picture:

Now much in Toronto as when it comes to vintage watches. I have been to Van Rijk; they deal mostly in luxury watches (Rolex, etc.). There is also Watchfinder.

Sorry there is not much in Toronto. I'm a local and been on the lookout.
If you are from the US or Europe it might make sense to pickup from ADs with the superior conversion.

Back in the late 80s and early to mid 90s there were many great shops to visit. Marcus & Co., VanRijk (always a bit of a clip joint) Russel Oliver still sold to the public rather than just buying, Maurice Ltd. was still good before he got caught out with his suspect activities. Eglinton Ave was a great place to visit and look for watches new and old. There were many pawn shops that sold good watches and not just garage sale junk. La Swiss, European Jewellers and Birks in the Eatons Center was Mecca for new and old watches.

Ah well.....I’ll table any watch exploration and stick to the touristy things then. 🤔

Forget about watches as there is nothing to see worth your while 🙁
If you like steak make sure you go to Jacobs. Reservation is necessary. For lunch visit St Lawrence market as there are a few decent options there especially the seafood place.
Also, visit Oyster boy as we have the best Oysters in the world. If you want other food options, let me know 😉

Check out the St Lawrence market flea market, on Saturday I believe. The pawn shops on King and Gerard used to be better.

Beware the "tame" black squirrels outside the Parliament buildings. They climb up your legs looking for nuts 😲

That was the only time I was a tourist in Torronno. 1974 I think it was.

No, the Squirrel Incident was on Parliament Hill in Ottawa looking down at the river and thousands of logs floating. The times I was in Toronto were of the airport, exhibition hall, hotel, exhibition hall, hotel [.... x7], airport type.

Fair enough - just pointing out that there is a parliament in every province, and Ontario's provincial parliament is in Toronto.

Too bad you haven't seen more of Toronto - it's a very diverse and interesting city.
