Good evening,guys.
Please, can someone enlighten me which parts are needed to build a Watchco SM300?
Is it hard to source them? Does your watchmaker have to be an Omega approved to find all of them or they are still easy to source?
Thank you in advance.

What I have found so far.,not sure if they are genuine.

In this case - which movement with a date function to look for?

Many thanks again.

This looks like the fake case set from etsy/ebay. I don't think it is easily possible to build a seamaster 300 anymore.

I thought so.
Sad.
It was too good to be true, furthermore the details/finish were crap.

Can't comment on the case. Looks like all you'd need is an Omega 562 or 565 movement.

Seller just came back to me - all original he said.
Hmm...
Not questioning your knowledge, just finding his answer rather peculiar.
However he sells fake Tudor bracelets,so no brainer then.

Yeah, those recently started popping back up on eBay and were also available on etsy with fake Seamaster 120 case sets. They're fake and overpriced fakes at that.

About 10 years ago you could see them on eBay at 500 gbp - but they were five of them

The easiest tell in my opinion is the ‘A’ in the WATERPROOF on the caseback. It’s suppose to be a flat ‘A’.

This is no longer a good tell, many of the fake cases have a flat A and the current service case backs from Omega have a sharp A.

2-3 years ago, I was just like you, I have had a crush on building the Watchco SM300 😀
Eventually, I gave up this project because I wanted a Big Triangle dial, but those do not exist as service dials. All what you can build is a Watchco with an arabic 12 o'clock index.

If that helps, here is some data which I have gathered that time.

That screen, shows you only one configuration, while most of the parts are common for the other configurations, here is a suplement.

Calibres 552/565(&562)/560/563 have been seen in the real vintage SM300.
561 and 564, as far as I know have not been cased by Omega but those may be a nice upgrade if you care about COSC.

Late(r) production watches had a screw down crown, early production had so called "naiad crown" which was smaller/shorter and imho is a much nicer crown.
That crown tube (090ST9002) for the naiad crown you need to double check - I cancelled this project before had it confirmed for 100%.

Bracelets are here;

Good luck!

Yes, you need a watchmaker certified by Omega who can oder the BNIB parts directly from Omega.
Don't waste your time for ebay, no-one would be selling such kit for 650 GBP, real vintage "kit" would have cost much more.
Year ago or something Omega has changed a shape of this service case and also changed the service case back - buying BNIB parts from the reliable source is the best headache-free idea.
