My Speedie reduced fell off my wrist due to a spring bar failure and the case back popped off and rolled away… the watch looks fine with no marks on the case, by the time I found the case back some idiot had trodden on it and it’s warped outta shape! There is a sharp ding in the edge of the case back, must’ve be from what ever it hit or possibly what ever it was trodden into…...l didn’t see what it hit, there is shit everywhere here, could’ve been anything. Whatever it hit must’ve been at just the right angle.
I head something hit the deck and something rolling, then realised that my watch wasn’t on my wrist any more
Found the spring bar, it looks fine. It did have the pins sticking out a bit far from the clasp when it was fitted, so maybe one was pressed in a bit by something….… I dunno……what I do know is I’m mighty pissed off!

Only had the thing serviced a few months ago!
No not blaming the watchmaker, the spring bar would’ve been me, as the bracelet was repaired by the watchmaker and I had to resize it to fit, I seem to remember a spring bar leaping off into the great unknown, and not being able to find it, I probably stuck whatever was about that would hold it.

Took it into the watchmaker today, even though the case back is as bent as a dog’s hind leg the thinks he can straighten it.
