Bremont??

Why do they take so much flack?

Personally I kind of like them, don't think I would ever buy a new one. But a couple of models are quite nice on the eye.

Please tell me your thoughts/info on the brand

Thanks

I met the brothers at a local jewelers. They were touring America in a dog-and-pony road show (their cars were nice, a 911T and an XKE, but a bit long-in-the-tooth.)

What got me was the emphasis on "genuine canvas from the Wright Flier," which was a tiny swatch in the exhibition case back of their Wright Flier reference. Well, I was intrigued, and had just been to the Outer Banks (museum was under renovation.) Their story, something about the little old seamstress who did the Wright Brothers stitching, seemed a long shot. But then, I looked at several other references. This one was made from smelted alloy from a Hawker Hurricane, that one had a wood chip from the Mayflower, I was shocked they didn't have their reference made from Titanic silverware on display.

I found it all off-putting, there was no mention of the technical merits of their watches.

THE NAME BREMONT
In the late 1990s, Nick & Giles were flying across France in their 1930's biplane. The weather was closing in. A rough-running engine forced them to make an emergency landing. Keen to avoid the French authorities, the brothers were more than happy to accept the gracious help of the farmer whose field they had landed in. They stayed in his home, the aircraft took cover in the barn. It transpired their host had flown aircraft during the war, as well as being a gifted engineer. Half-restored wall clocks lay everywhere, together with numerous engine parts. The farmer still even wore his own father's wristwatch. The brothers promised that his warm hospitality would never be forgotten. His name? Antoine Bremont.

Hiding from the French authorities in 1998 with their biplane hidden in a barn. WTF do they think we are friggen morons

And you wonder why some WIS think these guys are total wankers

Thanks and some interesting comments. I definitely wouldn't buy new even with a good discount.
I wouldn’t buy one at all, used or new. Patience and due diligence pays off in this game, I’m finding. Good luck!

Think I'll swing my attention to IWC, Zenith or Breitling or maybe another Omega.

I bought one of their jaguar watches. To pair with my car. Nice. Just a tad too thick.

Here it is with other car-themed pieces.

It is a nice looking watch, does it get much wrist time?

I have an MB3. It's a cool watch. Rugged and unique lug design. Well built and a good pickup on the 2nd hand market.

I think they have some great looking watches .But with most people it’s about price point and you can get some very good main stream brand watches for less money IMO

Yeah this seems to be the problem, price point and so.e of the stories sound a bit far fetched.
