Breitling Navitimer question

Hello to this great community. I am a long-time reader as a guest and have just recently signed up as a member. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and learning so much here. The information I have learned from the likes of Archer and a few others has been invaluable to me.
I was hoping that someone with some knowledge of Breitlings may be able to offer some insight on this Breitling watch.
I've had this nice (to me) Breitling Navitimer for several years now and always wondered why the numbers on the back have been stamped out and replaced with 809. I understand that 806 is correct for the 24-hour dial and 809 would be correct for the 12-hour dial. Seems strange to me that the correct number for this watch is stamped out and replaced with 806. Would Breitling do something like this? I have reached out to Breitling archives to see if they can shed some light on it but haven't heard back yet. Just wondering if any of the great minds on this site have any knowledge of this.
Much appreciated in advance.
