Yes well, sorry for adding on to the dogpile... 😗

Count me in!

My steel Dayto... :whipped: Speedmaster's in, woohoo ::psy::

I wrote elsewhere that I've been waiting over 15mth and @Robert-Jan suggested I was exaggerating but in retrospect, I've wanted this reference even before it was announced - since Omega unveiled their re-issue of the 321, back in Jan 2019. I was a bit nervous when the Platinum-meteorite SMP was presented but I figured Omega would have to eventually put one in good ol' steel (after all, "steel is real" 😎)

Here's a couple of rushed Smartphone pics but eventually, me & my Canon rig will give this reference the attention it deserves... ! 👍

^Many thx, everyone 😀

...Did you use some kind of an app/filter to edit those pictures? And what kind of lighting? ...
indoors next to a window with "mid-day" daylight (late afternoons produce a bluish color cast). I usually take a break to do a wristshot at ~13:50 (and very rarely 10:10 🥱)

Secondly, I always take wirstshots using manual camera controls - I determine the ISO, shutter speed etc manually in order to produce the best results. This requires an additional 1~2secs so it's really not a big deal.

I also manually adjust all my Smartphone photos using the built-in (manual) editing tool. It's an LG V30 but I understand that the last 3~4 generations of iPhones can take better pics. Not being an Apple guy, I'm not familiar with the available tools (or lack thereof)... 🤔

It takes approx 3~4mins to do the adjustments per pic which is very short compared to me working with SLR-camera photos which can last anywhere from 10 mins for a standard shot to 45 mins for a macro depending on dust, etc. 🙁

Cheers 👍

Very nice indeed - congrats. Thoughts compared to the 3861?

The 321 overall feels more substantial vs the 3861. Bracelet is heavier. The faux lume is not overdone on the 321 so it just works overall as a great modern vintage. If you had the choice it would be 321 even at a price premium to the 3861.

Congrats on both counts - I think Omega did well to upgrade to the 3861 as well, I'm just not thrilled to have to choose between the Hesalite & Sapphire "options"... 🫨

The 321 on the other hand, with it's display caseback, applied logo & "semi-domed" sapphire crystal rocks 🥰

So does anyone really know how distribution ACTUALLY works? I've read everything on here from your boutique has to lobby on your behalf to headquarters praising your long term loyalty to the brand to they just show up at the stores randomly. If the former is true, I've been wasting my time since I don't think my sales person has done that (they probably don't know you need to), if it's the latter then I'm just unlucky. Mainly asking because I've been #1 on the list at my boutique since the announcement and they have yet to get a single piece. I'm thinking I'm just unlucky because I've asked at 2 or 3 other boutiques and they shrug and say they haven't gotten one yet and are just waiting for one to show up.

My understanding is that in the US, your OB has to make a case for your allocation. They do not randomly show up. Each piece arrives with the customer name assigned by HQ. It is not just this model, I've seen it with others like the Hodinkee 10-year Speedmaster. You might want to have a chat with your OB manager. The SAs don't always know all the details and may not even have access to folks who are the decision makers/influencers.

Not sure how it works outside the US. Hope you get yours soon...

Soooo, everyone on here that has gotten theirs had a SA at an OB that called up Omega HQ and gave them their Omega life story and negotiated on their behalf for an allocation? That’s seems a little convoluted. My assumption would have been it’s like Daytona allocations where location and sales volume just determines how many you get and how often as an OB. Just want to confirm this how it is by some other people that got theirs before I go and chastise my SA for not knowing about this policy or doing the leg work for nearly a year now and that it’s not just because they really just haven’t gotten their allocation yet.

According to my OB, a rather large one in the U.S., the SS321 allocations worked differently (for them) than the Snoopy allocations.

On the SS321B, the OBs got to drive the allocations of what came into them. I didn’t here anything about the decisions of what we’re sent to the OB. But once it got to the OB, they used a multi-factorial seeming system of (1) generally vetting whether they thought someone was actually interested in the watch for personal use, and then (2) the chronological order in which full deposits were made. E.g., in my case, I was #3 on the list, and ahead of me were the boutiques #1 and #2 clients based on annual sales. I suspect they were in before me because they were contacted by SAs before the widespread press release. I called to get on the list within minutes of the release. I waited almost exactly 1 year (356 days to be exact).

As for the Snoopy, I talked to the same sales people well after the release (I was not a motivated buyer for the Snoopy), and they reported a unique ever approach to Snoopy allocations. Unlike with the 321B, the OB were collecting the info of the interested, but - at least early on - it was HQ that was then sending allocated watches to specific buyers, with the watches arriving at the OB with a named buyer attached by HQ. In this instance, for example, as of a few months ago the OB’s #2 largest client received his first; reportedly this was to some disappointment by the OB, given the #1 was well and away larger than #2.

Everyone’s mileage may vary here depending on jurisdiction, OB influence, or degree of sales b.s. baked into any of these anecdotal stories.

There are the reports of 4 ~”nobodies” (or at least a few of the 4) simultaneous taking delivery of the earliest Snoopys in Australia.

Seems like they are less...let's say "trusting" of their boutiques to distribute these pieces than other brands, maybe they're just being careful and want them in the hands of actual collectors and people that will wear them, but it also tends to exclude people that may genuinely like the watch and just aren't on Omega's radar the way they want people to be. For context I've bought multiple speedy pros, a dark side, a grey side and some other items, so not a complete stranger but the Ed White calls to me and under whatever you say is in place, there's probably no chance I'll ever get to buy it from my OB, despite being the first, one and only person currently on my boutique's waiting list. Anyway, my SA at the OB just said she was unaware of any such system but would be in contact with the regional rep to see what the deal was.

Hang in there - I’m sure you will get one. Firstly, they are making extremely limited numbers. Secondly, COVID likely means a less than full first year or so of manufacture.

Its possible they will start to get these out there a bit more, albeit I don't think you’ll ever see these in windows.

FWIW I’m in the U.K. and certainly not a vip type. As long as they know you are serious, am sure they will sort something out for you.

Just received mine yesterday from my OB!

I have been waiting for what feels like forever and am really happy with the watch. Truly beautiful piece, especially that view of the movement. Stunning!

Do you know if your OB had to "lobby" on your behalf, proving your worth of the allocation or did it just show up as part of a shipment?
