The watch is mine, bought it yesterday, so everything is allowed. The box is the large Moonwatch box.

True ;-) - The box itself is then a bit disappointing to say the least...

But I guess it is also about saving cost emphasizing that this is a regular model. Oh well... a bit more special it could still have been? 👎

Im so excited for you! Making my wait even more unbearable 🙁

Hows the clasp? Assume no quick adjust? Does the bracelet feel as tight as a 6 digit rolex? Or a little bit more give like an original speedmaster?

any more information please, we’re all desperate for more content lol

I don’t see the problem. I love the box and I didnt have one of these yet. So I am perfectly happy with it. As with all my other boxes, they all end up in the attic anyway.

No quick adjustment, although I can adjust it quite quickly 😉 Two positions in the clasp. It wears very comfortable, the bracelet is incredibly well made.

As much as im in the camp ‘you dont wear the box’ it sucks for those that have the moonwatch already and have to empty out another wardrobe to fit it in lol

My only hope is that the bracelet designers had the wisdom to make the end-links separate. That way, in 55 years, future collectors would also be scrounging for these lost ends, and commensurately paying obscene prices, which would make for a much more authentic collector experience.

Yes - I see it more as forgiven opportunity, knowing what Omega is able to deliver in terms of great and creative box design 😀

As I suspected, it has the dreaded FOIS bezel overhang 🙁

Hmm, not giving me the I want one vibe in these pictures. whilst I have asked to be on the list for one I think that this watch is going to have to be seen on the wrist before a decision on whether or not to part with a sizeable chunk of cash is reached.

For now my 2019 vintage Speedy Moonwatch Pro will have to suffice.

Not feeling it. I'll stick with my 1976 145.022 and my 2020 311.30.42.30.01.005. I bought the latter earlier this year anticipating that the 1861 movement in the standard hesalite Moonwatch will be replaced sooner or later by the 3861 master chronometer movement. The end of an era, my friends.

Just like the one on the Apollo 11. Seems basically the same aside from the lug width.

Great to see and hear that the new Ed White 321 in Stainless Steel watches have started to be delivered by Omega. Very much looking forward to hearing from other OF members about their deliveries, where they are being delivered and their delivery experiences.
And it was somewhat disconcerting to see that clever watchmakers got access to the brand new Omega OEM parts to make up some really good looking watches before at least a small batch of the "New" Ed White 321 preorders from the brand's loyal customers had been fulfilled by the company. These are indeed interesting watches with (vintage) 321 movements plus the new handset, dial, case, pushers, crown, case back and crystal. Guess the only thing they don't have is the new watch warrantee?

Uhm.... the FOIS has it because the originals have it?

Thanks for sharing. Overall the watch looks nice and consistent with the original’s main specs. The bracelet is really the nicest achievement (do you know if it will be sold separately like the moonlanding 50th anniversary)? However the big miss is the crystal. Not for historical standards, but the sapphire gives the watch a dull look, even though it is well made. Like the FOIS, modern ck2998s, moonlanding anniversary watches... it’s a non starter for me.

Yes they do.

I wouldn't have mind if they'd put a Hesalite on it, but that wasn't (obviously) a show-stopper for me. It makes the watch perhaps a bit more suitable for every day wear (and no concerns about scratches on the crystal). The milky glow is non-existing on this watch, probably due to the smaller/thinner rehaut.

Great looking watch and new style bracelet, but I can't see spending that kind of money for this model. You are really paying a premium for that movement that, to me at least, just isn't worth it. I understand all the blather about the history, and if that thin reed of connection to 50+ year history is that important to you then it will wind up on your wrist. Some want that, many won't care. Very niche product.

It is very niche and it is not for everyone. One thing that I truly like about this watch - besides the incredible movement - is that it is not part of the industrialized way of producing a watch at Omega. One watchmaker is responsible for one entire watch, instead of parts going from workstation to workstation. I have been lucky to see the new workshop on the caliber 321, and there are actually people with screwdrivers there ;-)
