I know it's not a surprise to be released Limited edition by Omega every year. However, I was contacted by my local Omega boutique for reservation for LE pieces by full deposit. According to Omega B, there will be three limited editions following months. Two LEs for 50th anniversary Apollo 11 and 1 LE for James bond. They were not informed full details from Swiss but I am pretty sure Apollo11 will be speedmaster and James Bond LE will be Seamaster. Only information I have received was their prices for reservation by full deposit..

Apollo 11 - 2 models, 1 for $9600+tax, 1 for $34,000+tax

James Bond - $6500+tax.

Good luck for everyone to get any of these pieces.

They must use precious metals to decorate 321 movements like sedona gold and for the case. Yeah, but I agree with that the price is crazy

Is $34K an 18K tribute to early batch given to astronauts et al?

likely it will be Seamaster

Sorry, I should have specified. What the James Bond will look like*.

I would be VERY surprised if it wasn’t a Seamaster considering it’s what Craig has worn during his time as Bond and this will be his last film.

According to the press event in January this model won’t even have the 321. Assuming this is true it will just be an 1863 or maybe a heavily decorated version of the 1863.

I won't even pay 10k for speedmaster. But I am more interested in Jame bond LE.

Well said....
I doubt that it is Omega policy to propose such a thing anyway. Probably just the idea (and a bad one) of an employee
Cheers

I have a feeling this James Bond LE will be more in line with the commander or the aqua terra and won’t be related to the film. They won’t drop the film watch until press for the film begins and they have t even started shooting the film yet. I still think we have a while before we see the next “spectre” style of an LE for a film release. Although I personally hope they use the new standard blue SMP300m for the film. I think it would be perfect but because the spectre LE was such a hit I’m sure they will do that again.

The $9600 LE Speedy will have "gold elements". The 45th Anniv Apollo 11 Speedy was $7400 retail IIRC, the ceramic Speedy's are $12k retail... so I suppose this isn't totally out of line, but my interest in all this is waning tbh.

I assume the $34,000 version will be all gold with a gold bracelet since 50 years is the golden anniversary. Don't think I'll be getting that one!

That should be an 18K full gold speedmaster with 321 mvt and a standard ss model speedmaster for the 9K same as the apollo 17cernan combo last basel world and yeah you’ll get the amazing box as usual.

A reproduction of the BA 145.022-69 would be good. Would US$34K really be that far out of line for an 18K Speedmaster with a gold bracelet?

It is hard to think of a design Omega hasn’t done already. Of course there are always more colours to put on the dial but...

How do things work at Omega. Is there a special design, which they have been saving for the 50th anniversary for years or were they like “Ohhhh SHIT, what are we gonna do for the 50th” six months ago??
