I know that with the written word, it is hard to pick up on the tonal inflecton, body language etc, but I am truly horrified that it could be perceived that I was making fun of death by birth. I assure you I am being sincere with my regret.

Sorry, I'm coming in a bit late here. Yes, it's true that a lot of intended meaning is lost due of lack of these visual and vocal stimuli. What i really appreciate here is that everyone is using their words to communicate their points firmly, yet not (very) rudely. I was baby-sitting a 3 year old the other day, I'm glad that on this forum we seem to be 'using our words' rather than hurling personal insults and abuses at each other.

Also that folks have the maturity to understand when and how they have caused offence, and humility to apologise. Whilst it's easy to say things in the heat of passion, its not common to acknowledge the repercussions. It's things like these that not only encourage frank and fare discourse here on OF, but also provide a far better and democratically moderated forum in which to do so.

Speaking personally about the BA issue, Omega has quite a few BAs, and I assume that each has their own target demographic. I know that BAs are paid for, and therefore I don't take them into consideration at all for my buying decisions. That's just me though; I personally love real stories that real people have about their timepieces, and with that in mind, nothing beats the Silver Snoopy and Apollo 13 story. Now THAT's proof of quality, reliability and (let's face it) really good design.

Please, no Invictas for me! 😜

My reaction, to this reaction, is to realize how fortunate we are to be in a position of being incensed at a Famous Somebody's kids being selected as ambassadors for a luxury watch brand. Truly, this is a First World problem of the highest order.

In the case of Cindy Crawford's daugher Kaia, there is a longer association with Omega than many of us may be aware of. In 2015 Kaia accompanied Ms. Crawford for two weeks on board the flying eye hospital Orbis, during a medical mission to Peru. Omega is a major financial supporter of Orbis and sponsored (and promoted) Ms. Crawford's and Kaia's stay with Orbis. No doubt Ms. Crawford was financially compensated in one way or another (as a paid Omega ambassador), for her participation in the medical mission. In the case of Kaia, however, I imagine she could have just stayed home while her mother was in Peru, doing the things that teenage girls like to do. Instead, she went to a place that was far removed from her privileged world, and saw and experienced things that likely changed her view of the larger world.

Here's a screen cap (from a docu-mercial produced by Omega) of Ms. Crawford and Kaia on board the Orbis plane in 2015.

FTR I am a big fan of the Orbis initiative (and a proud owner of an Orbis HV)...the Orbis initiative is something that is close to home as I have someone in my family very dear to me who has suffered from a degenerative retina disease, but still managed to conclude a Phd and is still active in research study initiatives.

Just to lighten the mood here a bit and put some nice pictures on this thread...I am sure if Kaia stayed in any one of these hotels as part of the trip...well I don't think she would have suffered too much😉😀😀

Belmond Miraflores Park (Lima) - view from suite

Belmond Rio Sagrado (Vale Sagrado)

Belmond Sanctuary Lodge (Machu Picchu)

Belmond Palacio Nazarenas (Cusco)

They also have some pretty decent food...

There is nothing more valuable or powerful than a person who cannot be bought.
