Hello,
This is my first post here and I hope it’s allowed.

I recently bought my first vintage Omega, a Constellation from the 1970s (166.055), and was very happy with it. Unfortunately, after an ultrasonic bath, the band fell apart. Today I received the sad news that this band can not be repaired. The watchmaker also told me that an alternative strap could not be found, as the watch has a special bridge. He also told me that I could order a new bracelet (1155/146) for 530€. The watch is very dear to me, but over 500 euros for a new bracelet hurts a bit. Unfortunately, I can't find a used bracelet with the reference. Do you have any advice on where I could find one, or would you advise me to order a new strap?

I would be grateful for any advice!

New strap seems the best option. One of the issues with watches with integrated bracelets is the availability of these bracelets so if you can buy new you're basically lucky

Thank you for the answer! Then I am really in a dilemma. On the one hand, the watch is of course useless without a strap, but on the other hand, I find it difficult to buy a strap that is about 60% of the purchase price of the entire watch.

It sounds like the bracelet needs new spring bars - what else could „fall apart“ after an ultrasonic bath? I’m surprised they can’t be replaced.
