As the title says I am looking for the correct bracelet for my Japanese issued pie pan connie. I have seen it with both 5 row and 7 row BOR bracelets online.

I'm kind of wondering the same thing but based on what I've seen thus, it does appear it was a BOR bracelet. I see Uncle Straps sells a replacement. That's a lovely specimen you have there by the way.

There is no ‘correct’ bracelet for a Constellation as they were offered as an option at the point of sale.

The accepted opinion is that the more angular 7 row BOR suits the dogleg case better than the more rounded 5 row BOR.

I actually have a BOR from Uncle straps. The end link just doesnt fit the between the lugs of my connie.

Thank you for this information.

Is the US endlink the correct size (19mm). Is it solid endlink or hollow- sometimes the solid endlinks are hard to fit. Maybe the lugs are slightly bent?

It’s 18mm same as the lug width of the pie pan. Hollow end links. I don’t believe that the lugs are bent.

IIRC, some US-cased Omegas have peculiar imperial sizing which require specific US-imperial strap widths.

However, this didn't happen with Constellations, so it would appear that the end links are wider than advertised or the Connie-lugs are narrower than they should be.
My money is on the end links.

The US BOR fits a different Omega I have with 18mm lugs.

I’m afraid only you can solve this conundrum by (accurately) measuring the inside measurement of the lugs (on both of your watches) and the outside measurement of the BOR end links.

You will need a decent micrometer, not a ruler.

Lugs on a watch case can easily be (almost imperceptibly) bent in a case clamp, whereas the manufacturing tolerances on a non-Omega bracelet may not be as accurate as they should be.

Let us know what you find.

It’s easy to carefully file down endlinks by a small fraction of a mm. Just use a fine file and remove small amounts from each side, testing the fit as you go.

I don’t think there ever was a “correct” bracelet for this reference. People just adapt what they like as best as they can to it.

Terrific and informative thread thus far. Personally, I'm kind of growing weary of the BOR look so I take a modicum of comfort of exploring some bracelet alternatives. Should be an interesting journey 😉

What alternatives do you have in mind?

Well at present, I have it on a Forstner Komfit bracelet which works but have considered a ladder style or perhaps a mesh of some sort. In fact, I have a fine mesh on order from StrapsCo, so we'll see how that works. I guess I'm going with a bracelet that is wider than the Komfit yet uniform in appearance so not to distract from the dial. I'm indifferent to curved end pieces partially because I like the "exposed" view of those cool lugs! Stay tuned and as they say...."watch this space" 😉

Have one of these myself, my first Omega as a birth year piece. I now have a couple of bracelets for mine;
1) a 1503 Beads of Rice, 7-Row Steel Bracelet with #70 Endlinks (18mm)
2) and a 1193 Steel Bracelet, with #672 Endlinks (18mm)

Hi Visham, not mine, just images I grabbed to show what they look like.
