Well I've learned a lot about the watch part of vintage omegas (thanks to everyone here!). But now that I've bought one, I'm thinking about the bracelet. I do like the BoRs and I'm wondering how to find one that is period correct for this seamaster ref 166.002. I know there are fakes, should I look for model numbers? Where can I find the model numbers for bracelets that fit this case and are relatively period correct?
Do you have a preference for 5-row or 7-row? I think most members may recommend 7-row for this reference.
For a 7 row, maybe a 1503 for a BOR? Not sure about the end links number, but I'm thinking 22? I have that combination on my 168.004 which has straight lugs and it's a good fit. Try OF member @NoMercy. He usually has a good selection of BOR bracelets and he'll likely know the proper combination.
@michael e have an excellent post about bracelets and endlink. https://omegaforums.net/threads/case-bracelet-endpiece-list.81618/
If I'm reading these charts correctly, then the OP needs a 1037 bracelet with 570 end links. Someone please feel free to confirm.
I don't have a preference as of yet, not having seen them in person. But searching around, I see other posts about 7 being more preferred for this case.
Definitely a 7 row beads of rice for this reference - 1037 or 1503. There’s also some simply marked made in USA.
Excellent reference material, although I have a question. My Seamaster is one of the dual references 166.028 & 168.022. There are 4 bracelets listed for ref. 166.028 and the same 4 plus an additional one for the 168.022. Wouldn’t it stand to reason that the additional bracelet would fit since it is really the same case.
Also there are those that aren’t even marked as “made in USA” that were available from different retailers. Such as mine no omega reference number but the end links are stamped “48”.
