Very very true! I have too few right now, I spend next to no money on straps and bracelets but have impulse bought expensive watches on a few occassions ::facepalm1::
It’s like buying a $4k custom suit and having one polyester dress shirt and a rayon tie.

Good one!
To me it's like buying a luxury car and driving it on worn down 4 year old all-season tires.

While the prototype Forstner end-links didn't fit well on the WatchCo Seamaster 300, the production version fits quite well. If you want Omega at the clasp, the Forstner fastener is not compatible with an Omega clasp cover and you must replace the entire clasp.

Omega does sell a generic 20mm ISOfrane-type rubber strap. You must purchase the buckle separately. I have used it in the summer on my Seamaster 300 as well as a vintage Tropic strap.

Thank you for the information, I already have a isofrane for the summer but I do prefer bracelets generally, I am just a bracelet guy 😀

I will probably just keep my Omega clasp cover in the safe and use the forstner clasp as it comes.

this is just the cover- works on the US as a strait swap but you need the whole clasp for a Forstner. All I have read, these are genuine

Really love the look of the mesh and the tropic, I've decided to buy a Omega mesh that jaegodylan has kindly offered to sell me 😀

BTW, do the vintage tropics not age ? Old rubber in my experience isn't the greatest but I admit I know little about this and especially not high-end rubber straps.

The vintage Tropic is not rubber but a polymer plastic.

I have a few vintage tropics that are nice to wear, some not so much. I think they age differently obviously based on use or storage- or perhaps different formulas during the run? Also- they need to be the “Tropic” brand- I have a couple no-name vintage tropic style and they feel like strait up plastic.
I normally hate “rubber” straps (think seiko or Casio), but the US are comfortable as are the very few good condition vintage tropics I have.

I agree, the actual "Tropic" is better plastic than the copies, as you might expect. And, don't overpay for curved-end Tropics, they don't fit the Seamaster 300 worth a darn.

Would you guys recommend the US as the one to get if I get a modern one ?

Yes, it’s the best one out as far as I have read. I have a few. The trick to shaping them so they are comfortable immediately is on his website- it involves hot water and a tea cup.

Very interesting, I'll have to read up on it.
