I have had a handful of watches with boxes and papers over the years, but only have one left.

I got this 1680 1 owner back in 2007 on Craigslist in DC. It came with punch papers, 79 dated booklets, hangtag, inner box, and a 610m anchor from a DRSD that I sold for $1k...got my cost basis down.Guy bought it in 1981 and kept it in a safe most of the time.

While it doesn't have Omega papers, my 68 300 has a boatload of military ephemera from the original owner...crazy records, and the personal belongings receipt from the Army that references the Omega.

Box and papers? I have a few. The Date-Just and the Apollo XI commemorative Speedmaster are both from 1989 or 1990. Read the hang tag on the Speedmaster, and weep. You can only wish! The Lady Date-Just belongs to Mrs. C. She has lots of watches she likes, but this one gets most of the wear. The Mido I bought off a table at an estate sale after another dude looked at with interest. He put it down, I picked it up and pronto, it was mine. The Bulova I bought after Bulova quit producing actual railroad watches because time standards (for watches) all but disappeared. The two Rolex watches and the Speedmaster I bought when I worked for a Rolex and an Omega dealer. Needless to say, they were bought at (ahem) favourable prices as you may see on the sales receipt for the Lady Date-Just.

Picked this up in 89. Paid £400 to my good friend. The first owner. Who had bought the watch originally from the dealer, new at the retail price of £710. He decided he didn't like it and thought he had buyers remorse.

Bought this 145.012 - 68 w/ B&P a couple of years ago, but with that "958" stated, where the movement# should be, I'm unsure if it actually belongs to this watch..... Anyone having an idea of what the "958" might refer to?

I still have the complete kit regarding my beloved Seiko 6309-7049 that I purchased new in 1987 at the NAS Whiting Field Navy Exchange during Navy pilot training...

Bought from the first owner, since sold with a bit of sellers remorse but it stayed in the OF family so everything is good 👍.

Must share this 18K Seamaster 501 beauty, bought on fine auction where the paperwork came in as a pleasant surprise! 😀

My grandfathers De Ville from 1968. He bought it new from G.H.Pressley's in Worthing, West Sussex, whom he also bought an earlier s/steel 30T2 from. It was passed to me on his death in 1986, and I wore it quite often back then, but due to it being yellow gold, I don't tend to wear it so much these days.

I seem to remember another thread a year or so ago where a similar question came up and someone showed a catalog pic from the period showing 3 digit ref nos for each model, which were different to the normal references. IIRC this number was in the ref section of the papers, not the movement no section.

Bought this Speedmaster a couple years back. Was pleasantly surprised to get the original sales receipt.

Piece #5 of the Decades Collection. 😀

This straight writing is not part of the decades collection. But a very nice complete set.

Thanks - very interesting. I've tried to search OF for the thread, but no luck. If someone have better search skills, please try 😀
