Anybody know anything about these.. I know bovet is a good name but dont have any knowledge about these.. is it worth picking up at $250?

 

Very fair price, and apparently excellent condition, but most collectors shun chrome-topped cases.

 

Yeah the chromo case is deterring me a bit also ut I think is so cool

It's an ETA1168 as mentioned and to my knowledge, a few other companies such as Wyler made similar models. The only tangible difference being that the Wyler ones came with full steel cases.
