Boutique freebies when purchasing a watch?

I’m going to pick up a green Seamaster 300m in the next few days from Omega Boutique.

It’s my first time purchasing from an Omega boutique, my last few purchases have been from AD’s and I’ve been fortunate to get 15-20% off RRP. Unfortunately that’s not possible with the green SMP as it’s not in stock anywhere in my area and my AD has had one watch in 12 months and I’m a little down the list.

I’ve read that although OB don’t do discounts I may be able to get a rubber strap thrown in, what are my chances? I’m buying the watch on bracelet. I want the deployant strap and as I already have the 16-20mm deployant clasp for my moonwatch I’m going to try get the strap alone thrown in.

Anyone else received any freebies from OB?

Bought a Seamaster Trilogy in '21, got an Omega pen and leather cardholder and free shipping from Spain to Netherlands.

I was in exactly the same boat. I wanted a green one and could keen the black one at 15% off somewhere else. I too wanted both the rubber and bracelet.

In the end the OB (Bond Street, London) wouldn’t match the discount but didn’t give me a freebie. I had the option of either a voucher for a free service (good for any watch, any time in the future) or a free rubber strap. I service voucher was more valuable in the longer term, so I took that.

On the strap offer, the clasp wasn’t free - so I would have had to pay for that too if I took up this offer.

In the end, I walked out with the green SMP on bracelet, rubber strap with deployant, a free red travel case, spring bar tool, an omega branded special candle for the Chinese new year and a free service voucher. Also, I got in a couple of weeks before the price increase - so all in all, I was happy.

Freebies like straps and DP buckles are best negotiated as a condition of sale, but it never hurts to ask when you collect the watch.

I got a white Omega cap and a white pen to go with it. Was my first high-end watch though so I didn't even know I could try to deal something. ‍ Oh well.

Quite literally the same boat.

I have heard it’s pretty common to be able to negotiate these things so I’m going to give it a try.

The service voucher is definitely worth a go

The sale hasn’t been made yet.

The watch was ordered in from a different state for me after I paid a refundable deposit, I was quite clear I needed to see the green in person before committing to the purchase. So I feel I still have some slight bargaining power. It is a popular model though so who knows

Clean underwear nets huge results.
Is this cleaning advice or a negotiation tactic

The service is a good one to get. I bought a speedie a few years back with same deal. Free service with no expiry, a few cases etc. that service is now with about 850 quid. Sold the extra cases on eBay I got as a freebie for 150 so that’s a grand off a 4000 watch when I bought it.

I called the Chicago boutique in January to see if they had a Speedy with the new “comfort” clasp, as my AD didn’t have any in stock. I wanted to purchase before the impending price hike. I didn’t negotiate because I thought it was futile, but was told to pick out a Nato online, and I’d get it when I picked up the watch the next day. So pre-price hike and free Nato, but no discount.

When I bought my speedmaster in 2021, I was given a red omega hat and an omega pocket mirror!

For all three of my watches I bought from my boutique, I was given a strap (either leather or rubber). My understanding is that most boutiques (mine for sure) don't offer discounts so this is was my boutique's way of giving me something other than a % off the MSRP.

I had the impression getting a complimentary service from an OB was almost a given. Guess it’s timing and other factors.

All I got was a shot of whisky and a pen.
