Bought Wrong Constellation

A while back I saw an older Constellation in a pawn shop. I did a bit of research and learned it was a fake. So... I bought a brand new legit one that is somewhat different and (as it turns out) not really as much to my liking.

My new one is a 35mm stainless automatic co-axial with the clear back. It is not a double eagle, but looks (to me) very similar to one. I'm going to part with it.
I'm on the hunt for a older, smaller, constellation automatic. I don't quite have the terminology down, but the one I'm looking for has the thinner, rounded, lugs at 3 and 9, and has a smaller case of maybe 30 or 32 mm. My current watch has wider, flatter lugs and is not (to me) as attractive.

The point of this post?? I'm new here and do not have enough posts to list my watch.

Would it be legit to put my watch up for trade?

No, if you read the rules, you will see that you cannot list your watch. However, if you see someone selling a watch you want, you can always send them a PM asking about a trade.

I’m not trying to discourage you but my suggestion would be to look for the watch you want and just buy it.

Your new watch obviously has a value which may be more valuable than the watch you’re looking to get and, by the same token, the seller may just be wanting to sell and neither trade nor pay you a balance for your watch.

So, if you want to sell your watch, sell it on eBay, Chrono24 or to a reputable dealer.

That said, there are dishonest people out there who pose as reputable buyers, so make sure you get your money (and you may have to sell it at a discount) before you part with it.

Spruce. Good advice. Thanks.

As a matter of fact, I came to the same conclusion earlier today after consultation with my financial advisor (aka, wife).

I'm on the hunt now.

I'm not educated enough to tell a real Omega from a bogus one (especially, when looking on line), so I'm very concerned about Ebay and a little concerned about 24 Chrono.

I'm going to proceed carefully...

I think the ones I like best were made in the 80s, or so. Something along these lines. I'm amazed at the many many variations on this watch. I know I want automatic and either stainless or stainless with some gold accents. A pure gold watch doesn't fit me well.

It’s good to want a watch that nobody else wants. 😉

These are not so trendy right now, so you should be able to find a good one.

Run it by this forum once you've picked one. People are willing to help make sure it is legit.

Are these unloved because of looks or because (this one anyway) is quartz? In any event, this is one of my favorites--there IS no accounting for taste. Just FYI, I'm looking for an automatic one.
