Blue dial Speedy Moonphase

First post. Go easy. I am pining for a Omega Speedy Moonphase (304.33.44.52.93.001) BUT, want to purchase an Omega stainless bracelet as a daily wear option. Omega tells me no dice, the only possible alternative same watch with black dial and stainless bracelet (304.30.44.52.01.091) and Omega leather bands as “accessories”. I really want the blue face.
No offense intended but, should I take Omega’s tech advice as the definitive word or not?

Omega has no problem selling bracelets so you are getting bum advice unless they just don't produce any excess bracelets to sell for these models, or if there is some wild change in policy we haven't heard about. Try another boutique. Who gave you the advice that you couldn't buy a bracelet separately?

I called Omega in NYC and spoke with a parts tech (?). Again, I was told the stainless bracelet is an accessory/replacement for the black-faced dial of this model/series but would not fit the blue. I agree, puzzling so, I came here to see if I’d gotten the wrong info. That said, I was quoted $710 (gasp!) for the stainless bracelet…so I’ll presume they’ll sell it to me but..if it won’t fit, I’ll have a non-using accessory. As per your advice, I’ll contact a retailer/dealer/boutique and see if they may have a different take. Thanks.

$710 is the going price for these bracelets which is why it is always better to buy a watch with the bracelet and then use leather/textile straps if you want to go that route. That's not an option in your case since the blue dial version isn't available with a bracelet as a stock item. I don't think there is any difference in the case for the version that has a black dial and a bracelet (304.30.44.52.01.001) and the blue dial with strap model (304.33.44.52.03.001), so I'm not sure why you are being told it won't fit. Maybe someone else here can provide more info on this but I think the tech is wrong here.

The case is obviously different - one has a black bezel and one has a blue bezel - these are different cases.

The mid cases are the same though...

I contacted another boutique who assured me the cases were identical—the dials of different color but the same case.

No. Here is the part number for the case of the black dialed model:

055CCZ005172

Here is the blue dialed model:

055CCZ005173

If they were the same case, they would be the same part number. The black case has a black bezel, and the blue case has a blue bezel.

As I said above, what is the same is the case frame, which is the middle part of the case.

Cheers, Al

OK then…and, to beat this one to death, there is no stainless Omega bracelet to fit the 055CCZ005173, blue dial case….correct?🙁

So this can be a bit confusing, since the terminology may not be apparent.

The black and blue models share the same case frame - this is the middle section of the case that has the lugs where the bracelet attaches. So if that middle section where the bracelet is attached is the same, then the bracelet from the black one should fit the blue one. Now is there a very small chance that there's something else different about these that may make the fitting of the bracelet a problem? Yes, but it's very,. very small.

The bracelet for the black one is 020STZ005169.

Cheers, Al

Hello @KPV, I picked mine up after seeing it was a big hit at Basel.

Man, I saw that blue dial and fell in love! When I got to the Boutique, I told my guy I wanted the bracelet and asked if he would steal one from the black dial version (my avatar, as well)

I wanted to keep the original blue alligator and have them install and size it.

So yes, it will work just fine!

I got stuck for a grand though! Pounce on it for that! Some eye candy for you...,

The bracelet is the only way to go! My guy at the Boutique fell in love with it as well!

1st attempt at images... it's kinda right. Sorry.

So question definitively answered......the bracelet from the black dial version will fit on the blue dial version. Looks good with the blue dial.
