I think this is the classic case of collector vs. average consumer. As you say Rickyp, the average person will never know more than the fact you have a shiny Omega on your wrist and will likely admire it. The average collector however, would notice every small detail that was incorrect and couldn’t live with it. Ultimately it’s your watch and not theirs (it would never be theirs as they’d never purchase it in the first place), so if you’re happy with it then love it, wear it and be proud of it. I think it’s great that there are watches that aren’t perfect as it means that the average joe like me can afford to own a piece of history, however altered it may be. If every watch were perfect, all the prices would be astronomical. That being said, you asked for advice and it was given. You don’t have to take the advice but you do have to accept that you were given what you requested. I hope you enjoy your watch.
