Thanks for any info. It all helps and I’m trying to learn. Liked the fact it was a bit larger which I’m guessing might be a bit unusual for the sixties ?

Dial has been incorrectly refinished, all the fonts are incorrect, SWISS MADE positioned incorrectly, case is very polished. Hands are incorrect as well.

It would appear to have seen the polishing wheel once or twice...

I love the polished look. Sorry don’t understand the run Forrest reference. Am I missing something?

Do any of the replacements make any difference?

Sorry Shabbaz I still don’t get it. If there is some sort of hidden joke it would be good if you would share it with me. Am just trying to learn.

If you want an over-polished watch with incorrect hands and a refinished dial then no.

    Google Forrest Gump.

Thanks for the help. I’m guessing that your reference to Forrest Gump infers that I have learning difficulties. Thanks guys. A really helpful forum. You should be very proud of yourselves or maybe you should try working with adults with learning difficulties, as I do , and understand why your reference is extremely offensive

No I just think they were saying ‘run’ from this watch - it’s not in a good ‘collectible’ condition because of all the faults pointed out.

I like the look of the watch. Not too bothered about originality as long as it’s not got a battery. Horses for courses I guess. I do hope the references were to running away from the watch and not to me having learning difficulties because in this day and age that’s inexcusable

Possibly would have been easier just to say that. Clears up any ambiguity

All the attributes that have been described above are negative. Watch collectors want the watch to be as original as possible, in working condition, but with as many original and non service parts as possible.

The forest gump reference is not personal it's a common phrase used wrt to running away, and not stopping running away.

As for polishing, while it makes it look shiny it changes the shape of the watch

Keep looking, while you may like this it would be difficult to resell in the future.

We all have made mistakes, I know I have

No, I just meant RUN LIKE HELL! You're asking a collectors forum what do we think of your potential omega and we tried to tell you dont buy. We do this with a lot of people and at the end of the year we send our newcomers the bill for our advice. But if you dont mind all the problems with the watch then you should buy it. Good luck!

It’s from the year I was born. I’m not a collector, I really like the look of the watch and don’t plan on reselling. I bid on eBay for it and lots of people were bidding. I don’t think I overpaid for it and when people come onto a forum seeking help I personally don’t think Forrest Gump references are helpful in my opinion
