If you look back (and now of course) how much money US companies make off war it’s stunning. Ford during WW2 supplying both sides. The list goes on and on. For me it was nothing about any kind of western guilt it was trying to reach out to someone I knew in Ukraine and hoping I can help. I find it odd that what caused the issue in Sri Lanka seems to get buried a bit but regardless i don’t know if there has been a period on earth since humans arrived that there hasn’t been a war or “police action” somewhere. We don’t seem very good at getting along. Maybe someday we will get it down.

Believe it or not Sri Lanka has a big antiques market. Sad to see the current state of affairs though. Knowing my interest in watches my father in law recently asked me he wanted to get himself a Patek Philippe as his first boss, a Sri Lankan architect wore one. Backed out of course when he heard the price of one
