@FamilyMember Those are the hands I was referring to when I asked for a pic of the topside of those hands not the ones which are installed in watch itself.

I understand now about the hands which were replaced. I hope the replacement hands put on my Omega are not an issue. This watch has been quite a learning experience for me.

If the old hands are in "good" condition you could have them reinstalled to make it original again.

I understand about the old hands being desirable. At this point, having gone through much time and cost with complete maintenance service, I'm inclined to sell the watch in the maintained condition, with the replaced parts included separately. If a buyer really wants the old hands reinstalled, they could find a qualified watch specialist to install. Omega did not give any options during the maintenance to leave old parts installed.

That's a good idea. In your add, include a picture of the face of the original hands and say that original parts are included.

Good luck with the sale.

Agree. Sell as is, with the service parts included.

When you list it, include photos that allow a buyer to judge the condition of the original hands. And just generally keep them organized and safe so they aren’t damaged in storage or shipping. Based on the way you are handling them, as a buyer I would be concerned.

keep in mind that the hands currently on the watch have basically no value and the old hands have some value, depending on condition, which can’t be evaluated from your photos.

Thanks -- I appreciate your suggestion about how to handle the parts. They were all returned to me in the small, plastic zip bags as originally shown. It helps to know that the hands need to be handled carefully. I can certainly separate, photograph and put all the hands in a separate plastic bag.

I know it may sound crazy but the color and condition of the lume in the original hands will make the difference between buy or not-buy for many collectors. So just be aware of that.

That is very helpful to know, thank you!

To be honest, I’d try eBay again and be clear on your description that it’s a service bracelet.
Dealers aren’t generally going to offer a good price for a vintage Speedmaster.

I contacted ebay. Given that my account received a warning to not relist when the new bracelet failed authentication, and they have no other company to authenticate watches, I will sell elsewhere. It's a shame as I have been selling on ebay for over 10 years with a perfect reputation.

For what it's worth, many of us don't hold the ebay authentication system in high regard.

I absolutely agree. My experience with the ebay authentication system was truly awful. I am not surprised the company that does authentication has such bad reviews on yelp and google. I have urged ebay to one or more get better companies to do authentication. The incorrect assumption during authentication made cost me a significant sale on which I had spent a lot of time and effort. At least ebay was supportive in refunding the expensive shipping I paid to send the watch to the authenticator.

Definitely carefully separate out those original hands. Try not to bend, and store carefully.

I agree 100%. Also collectors would prefer the original crown and pushers. I can't tell if those removed in the service were original.

The watch was never serviced until last year, so those parts removed during the service should be original. Thank you for helping me learn more about these valued parts of the watch. When I list the watch, I will make a point of photographing the replaced parts to make them as easy to view as possible.

I noticed a number on the back of the watch case, near where the bracelet attaches. It looks like 633. Here is a photo. I did some google searches but haven't been able to figure out what the number represents. I would appreciate any education on this number.

633 is the number of the end-links on the bracelet. Also, Omega service replaces crown and pushers; from one of your earlier pictures, you can see the original crown as well.

I wanted to say how impressed with our membership’s responses to what seems an honest request - the baying mob who usually clamour for crucifixion of a low post sales advice request must be busy building ikea furniture without he instructions again.

to the op. As a private seller, you might not be able to maximise value - but that’s to be expected. You have to strike the balance between price, and safety. EBay is no longer really any help, and the risk by some idiot in the verification unit messing it up is high.

chrono24 might be good. I haven’t used it, but others have.

If it came to me, I would replace the hands with the old ones, possibly after some adjustment or restoration. If it were you I would get those hands out and keep them so they can rub against anything or damage further.

I am not sure what he original bracelet is, (an original 1171 maybe?) but if serviceable I would re fit.

the box and papers is a real plus.

What’s the value?

well we have to think about condition/originality/attraction.

condition is very good, originality is ok, attraction is high.

by now you must have a ton of offers - and good luck.
