I think they will reissue the vintage 300 at some point. But they might do it as a special limited edition like they did the 57 60th 300.

I don't have any inside info, just a hunch since they have several other diver ranges already in permanent production, such as the skeleton SMP, modern lollipop 300, and Planet Ocean. If they reissue it, it wouldn't surprise me if they price it around $7k or more. The Watchcos are going up in price rapidly.

Agree at the price point unfortunately - if they did it, $7k seems to be their happy price these days.

As we are rapidly approaching the 60th of this style Seamaster, they better get crackin’.

The watchco’s are going up because there is a vacuum and very few seem to hit the market at any one time- the timing would be perfect for Omega to jump in with a reissue. The originals are way too expensive (and fragile) for most daily wearers and the open and easy supply chain on the parts has dried up.

If they did reissue, I don’t think it would hurt the values of the vintage ones, but I think it would drop the Watchcos to pre-pandemic levels which was around $3k…which is what I paid for mine and I think is very fair considering the sum of the parts.

When I see the classic vintage Seamaster 300 tool watch design, I ask myself, why is Omega sticking with the goofy helium release valve concept on their SMP range? The 10 o'clock nipple and skeleton hands jumped the shark back in the 90s and are a legacy of Omega product placement in a film franchise. They should have never killed off the Seamaster 300 in 1969. Should have kept it in production like the Speedy.

Agreed - probably a good view at why Omega has lost its market dominance massively to Rolex in recent decades - the lack of a long term roadmap view of it's core products, design, etc.
