Hey guys

Have a few Omega NATO straps but they’re so expensive.

Which non omega NATO’s (nylon, leather etc) do you recommend? There’s so many independent brands out there but hard to decide! Have so far used monstraps and just ordered from Watch obsession (U.K.). Thanks

Phenomenato does great straps.
Made in UE, very good quality, very good price.

+2. They are top-notch in terms of build quality, although you can sometimes wait a bit for your order.

I also like the Chevron straps from Crown & Buckle, and the very soft, supple NATOs from Bulang & Sons.

And, finally, for sheer fun and options there's always CheapestNatoStraps, which can range from stiff and surly to soft and well-made.

Phenome make excellent natos. Possibly as close to Omega quality as you can get but much less expensive.

Another vote for PhenomaNATO, but the delivery time is REALLY slow. There are two things about them I like more than the Omega — they are thinner and the tail is longer, so is easier to tuck under. But they have limited colors.

another option that is almost as good, cheaper, and faster delivery is BluShark, their AlphaPremier line.

Not quite a nato, but check out Nick Mankey designs “hook strap” they are the most comfortable fabric straps I’ve ever tried. Very similar to Erikas originals but these are quite stretchy. Been called “yoga pants for your watch” and I agree!

Long lead time on these but worth the wait. I ordered one to see if I liked it and then the next order I ordered all the color ways I thought I might ever want, it cost more up front but I didn’t want to wait months every time I fancied a new strap

Watch Prince has excellent quality ballistic NATOS if that’s your bag. Never seen anyone else come close.

ToxicNATOS are great (I believe they rebranded to UTE Watch Co), although I dont care for the style of their metal keepers - doesn’t really match the style of the Speedy IMO.

For leather NATOs, I like B and R bands. I do not recommend the leather NATOs from Crown & Buckle’s - mine was very thin and looked like cheap construction paper. I even had to tape the back of mine to keep it together. That said, I hear nothing but great things about their standard NATOs.

Cheapest NATO Straps are very solid - nothing cheap about their build quality except the price. Be prepared to use a nail file on the stitching, though, as it can be quite abrasive/scratchy straight from the factory.

Tons of great options... Enjoy!

I like Artem. Their measurements are similar to Omega’s natos. The 12 o’clock longer side with the free-floating keeper is a game changer. All others just lack attention to detail.

Hard to beat the classic “Toxic Natos” (now called UTE Strap Co. thanks to a lawsuit) I believe the grey is exclusively sold on Hodinkee these days.

Cheapest NATO Straps is my go to. Good quality at a reasonable price. I also have natos from B & R Bands, Stap Tailor and Crown & Buckle, which are more pricey but are very nice too. I want to try Artem next, looks very close to Omega level.

But honestly, Omega really does make the best NATO strap. They're worth it to me.
