Or a minute repeater?

Though large and thick.

But would be a nice conversation piece.

That watch deserves a better photographic quality.

Would a mother of pearl dial and alligator strap (plus lack of second hand) qualify this as a dress watch? 😀

Will throw this into the fray as well.

Even if a tad thick.

Would be a conversation starter due to the digital display yet mechanical movement.

I’ve found that the best dress watch is the one I can purchase without feeling bad about the money and wear without worrying about damaging it.

so a nice previously enjoyed 50s Omega automatic in 18k gold suits me fine...

and it leave lots of greenbacks for my other addictions...

I am due to meet up with an old business friend for lunch once life returns to normal and as he is also a watch lover I will probably wear the J.W.Benson with a sixteen jewels Smiths movement.

IWC Portuguese Minute Repeater, I think is around £70k new. This one is about 15 years old, I do like the minimal style and the minute repeater function is delightfully curious (and definitely where all the money goes).
Agree. This is one special watch.

I am thinking my next dress watch will be the Patek 5296G with sector dial. Got to start saving.

Simplicity be damned! I’d have an F.P. Journe Resonance if money was no object. I’m easy on the dial colour but it’d have to be the version with two 12 hour indicators. I was lucky to attend a HSNY talk with Journe in early March and fell hook, line & sinker for the concept. His story combined with the beautiful watches make for something special. Please excuse the poor quality photo.

Back in the real world, I’ll be sticking with my speedy on a JPM leather strap.
