I just watched this video and thought all 3 were gorgeous and “grail” level watches. What others would you consider a contender for best dress watch? There will be a wide variety of opinions, but that’s the point - to discover new watches and get a feel for what this excellent community loves. (I know there’s another thread about dress watches, but I wanted to exclude the <$15k requirement. Doubtless there are fantastic examples in that thread, which I’ve already drooled over)
IWC Portuguese Minute Repeater, I think is around £70k new. This one is about 15 years old, I do like the minimal style and the minute repeater function is delightfully curious (and definitely where all the money goes).
I don't think a date complication and multiple indexes really belong on a dress watch. Dress watches should be simple and elegant, and thin. So between those two, the Lange. The Patek isn't bad or anything, it's just more of a business watch than a dress watch.
If I had to decide the “best” dress watch it probably wouldn’t be from a (relatively) big brand, I would want something more personal.

The Patek Calatrava Small Seconds is drool worthy... But there is something about this VC that just talks to me... Anyone know where I can easily rob a bank?
My only proper dress watch (so far) is a JLC MUT. I think it’s a great as a dress watch. Thin. Leather strap. Hours and minutes only. It’s manual wind. And in steel (which might be a disqualification for some). So i nominate any no-complication MUT as the best dress watch. Bar none.
