^^^ I have one of these, but find it's utility to be quite limited. Generally it's too large for most things in my experience. Maybe if you work on lots of large pocket watches it would come in handy, but not so much for wrist watch sized items.

Thanks for chiming in. What is your preferred method for removing broken screws on a typical wrist watch movement?

Thanks for sharing. I read about this method in pocket watch forums, but wasn't sure how effective it would be because there were some mixed reviews. I will give it a try.

Yeah, I found the included pins are too large. They make smaller ones, which I now have to order. Otherwise I will have to grind my own pins to size.

I considered the alum method, but there are other iron parts near by.

Watchmaking is about patience and waiting.

You can either remove the parts, mask them, or often I hang the part so that only the screw I’m trying to remove is in the solution. There are very few circumstances where alum doesn’t work, and it’s also dirt cheap...

Now a full 6 months after ordering, without notice, my cannon pinion remover arrived in the mail. Better late than never!

It is finally here. Thanks to a member here on OF I was able to order one from france using eBay.


Have not had a chance to try it yet.
I ordered 1 and I used it on a stuck screw in an Omega 601 movement. It worked find in my situation.
