Nothing wrong with it having the triple, at the most just a little redundant.
Looks like it has pretty much everything you'd need aside from some decent lights.
Just using it for commuting? Exercise?

Exercise mostly, just the appeal of something that isn't mountain bike focused and not track.

Good choice, then.

Not quite a beautiful day, but the clouds gave me the opportunity to finish restoring my Daccordi steel road bike that has been staring cable-less at me for a while now. After a year riding an electric gravel bike this thing feels weird as it’s so old school, and as I haven’t had a road bike since 1996 my legs aren’t used to the gearing 😒

Cool bike @rob#1 ! I notice your 2x chainring seems to have both rings with very similar size gearing. Usually I see a much bigger difference in diameter/tooth count between the two rings. Is there a story behind that unusual setup? Could this be why your legs aren't used to the gearing?

Happy biking!

This image of my Cannondale in Switzerland came up on screensaver today and it brought back so many happy memories, as some of you will know health issues put paid to my cycling days some time ago but I wish you all the best and please keep the images coming 🥰

Yes, well spotted. I had noticed the similarity when fixing it up; I’ve tried to leave everything as I found it, apart from the saddle, chain, handlebars, cables, etc. (the bike was found in a charity shop and had been used as a beachside cruiser, with a fat saddle and the handlebars pulled backwards).

I’ve seen that a common configuration on contemporary race bikes is something like 50-34 (a difference of 16], whereas in the late 70s / 80s (this bike is from the mid 80s) chainrings were commonly 52-42. This bike has 52-47 Sugino chainrings, so it is pretty close in gearing. It also has a crazy mix of Campagnolo Super Record, Simano Dura Ace and Sugino Mighty components 😵‍💫

After a test ride I’ve decided that the frame is way too small for me - I think this is the main reason I can’t ride it properly! Now I’ve completed the restoration I’ll probably move it on and hunt for something else to tinker with.

My last time in the saddle before health issues ended my days on two wheels 🙁

30 mile ride to Green Springs in Florida last weekend. Fresh water rises up from 80ft below....one of the first 1800s natural health spas in Florida. Sulfur in the water was believed to be healing, except for the alligators....😀

Washington’s Mt. Baker, as seen from the rural roads in Richmond, BC, just south of Vancouver.

First ride on my new to me Vitus Dural 979. I did not have a road bike for years, came across this one and fell in love with the frame 🥰

My brother finally bought himself a gravel bike. He has a really good reason since he just bought a home on a gravel road! Lots of great gravel road nearby as well.

I don’t know why some of my photos won’t upload lately, but he bought himself a Trek Checkpoint in lime green…

The site doesn’t have any difficulty downloading pics of my bike and a beautiful garter snake, though!
