Duuuuuude that thing is freakin' SWEET!
How does it do on the pavement?
If y'all recall, I was considering making the switch to a gravel bike as my all around "road" bike.
Still considering it, but still no immediate plans.
I bought this bike with the same idea in mind, as making it my all-around bike, and I must say, it feels great so far! This evening, I will take it on my first group ride that is known for a large number of short climbs, and I think a lot will be revealed.

I already pretty sure that I won’t be slowed/compromised by the gearing (it seems great in the GRX 2x11), and my position on the bike is only slightly more upright, and I can also get aero very comfortably/easily. The only thing that might slow me down in the group is going to be the tires which are slightly knobby 38 mm, but I can always go smaller and/or pump up the pressure for less rolling resistance.

At this point, I’m thinking it’s quite likely may end up selling my road bike very soon!

Ill try and 😁let you know how tonight‘s ride goes! 👍

I don't usually do group rides and I'm not 100% about speed (although I do like to go as fast as possible, obviously).
My idea was picking up a road specific wheelset to swap out when I really wanted to.
If I ever even fount it to be necessary...

Group ride went fine last night with my Aspero 5, although with the 2000 feet of climbing on tarmac I wasn’t in good enough condition to keep up on every climb. It didn’t feel slow, however, these guys were just hitting it hard!

I think you would be just fine with original wheel and tire set of 38mm (what I’ve got) … just be sure and add extra pressure for road rides..

I’m 140 lbs and I like ~ 28 psi (I’m tubeless, which is quite a sweet ride!) for gravel and ~45 psi for road.. it did great at 45 psi on the dam for that 1 mile… best part of the ride was riding with a couple others with gravel bikes over the all-gravel dam… 38’s we’re perfect!!

Super fun… it actually turned out to be the faster route! 😜

Go for it!

My new “gravel“ bike arrived last week, and I’ve had a ball with it: on the road, on gravel, and today, on single track MTB trails.
It really is a great all-arounder.

Riding past the 45th Infantry Division Museum, I had to stop and get a picture of my ‘rocket’ with another ROCKET!! 😁

Mine is a 2023 Cervélo Aspero 5 🥰
54 cm ‘Purple Sunrise’ GRX 2x Di2

… with my trusty bronze/blue Baltic Aquascaphe
Very nice and congrats! Although Cervelo is no longer Canadian, still proud that it started in my hometown. A buddy of mine in high school went on to be their engineer when the company was an upstart.

An incredible 3 degree celsius mtb ride today. This mtb park does an amazing job with trail maintenance. They had their guys blowing all of the leaves off on all of the single tracks today which is close to 30 km worth 😀

Those trails look great. It’s been quite a while since I’ve been on a MTB, but I picked this up yesterday and am looking forward to getting back on the trails.

Yeah I'd love to get back into trail riding. But I don't even have the time to just got on my bike at the house!
I wanted/planned to go out for a ride on Sunday, but just too much going on!!!

Yea, I’m a pure XC rider and those single tracks there are just pure heaven!

Congrats on the awesome bike and welcome back to mtb! Of the three riding disciplines that I do, mtb, gravel & road, mtb is a totally different beast and is by far my favourite!

Man, you need to make time for your health and for your sanity!

I’m one of the lucky ones for my wife forces me to ride as much as possible so I don’t get….too fat….guess that’s a good thing 👍

Hah yeah I do have the spousal support, luckily. But with a day trip Saturday, I'd planned to ride Sunday. But everything I didn't do on Saturday I had to cram into Sunday! Maybe this weekend...
Sometimes it is a motivation thing though. Especially in the Florida heat.
I always need to remind myself that I do enjoy it once I'm out there. Because every time I go out I think...why don't I do this more? lol

Thinking of buying a Giant Roam in XL frame, the one I am looking at has 3 cogs upfront and a 10 speed cassette at the rear, all looks standard but when I look at the retail sites for them this option doesn't come up, Shimano Deore changers and derailers. Bike looks absolutely brand new and probably is.

Any one have any experience with these as a bike?

What year is the bike? Do you know, or have a picture of it?
And what exactly do you want to know? I have an Escape, which is similar, but still different.
Also, do the cranks have any markings on them?

Couldn't download the photos as in a protected format, will drop by later today and take some photos, looks to be a current model probably a shop modified Disc one.

As I had deduced, a speced up disc 1.

Nothing wrong with it having the triple, at the most just a little redundant.
Looks like it has pretty much everything you'd need aside from some decent lights.
Just using it for commuting? Exercise?
