I'd be insane or suicidal at my age to even consider riding in this weather.
I'm impressed, but, I have a strong feeling you're half my age. Hopefully you didn't stick a fork in it.

Nice photos of your Mulholland and Venice rides. I used to ride about 20 miles, back and forth, out to the handball courts at Venice Beach and play back in the day. Still play handball but only indoors.

Wasn't the smartest move. At 40, I’m supposed to make better choices. HA! I wanted to get out in the heat to test myself. I guess I accomplished that. Not rushing out to do that again anytime soon. Went up Mulholland this morning. It was already 80 when I left the house just before 5:45.

@Marsimaxam did a 55 mile ride yesterday and didn’t start until 11. I was cooked.

Looks like I’m joining the Tarmac family.

Nice! You will love the Tarmac! Excited to see what build you will have so please do keep us posted!

Well that escalated quickly lol.

I called it, just didn't think it would happen THIS quickly lol.

Blue Tarmac has been retired for me, so new incoming within the week (yes, I know it violates n+1).

I tried to hold off. Just not too good at that. Hahaha

A special day today.

First time out in 12 months - since having a very unexpected date with a triple by-pass.....
(It’s taken much, much, longer to heal than I expected - which has been very frustrating)

Took it nice and easy (and picked very carefully over the gnarly bits) and other than some tired legs, there doesn’t appear to be any other ill-effects.

So, for me, every day is a beautiful day to ride a bike. 😀

I guess it would be sinful/disrespectful if at least one road ride is not done on my road bike during the Tour de France!

So off for an evening ride 😀

I have a family member who is an avid cyclist coming into town starting this weekend so I'm hoping that will give me a good excuse to get out and ride!
While I don't mind my solo rides, it is always more fun to have at least one other person.
99% of my rides are solo rides these days, and that's on the rare occasion that I even get out!

It turns out that the gravel bike I want (Specialized Diverge or Trek Checkpoint) would not be available until probably November at the earliest. So I went ahead and traded the Tarmac for a MTB instead. I've gone on three rides, all trails and so far I am really enjoying myself. I am also working on my skills (bunny hops and overall handling for now) which is making me feel more confident in my riding as well as my purchase (well trade, but you get my meaning, lol).

The color is a satin oil slick with raw carbon mixed in, really difficult to distinguish let along photograph.

After the completion of this ride I hit it with some Pedro's Bike Lust, this after previously giving it a once over with scratch remover and then a spray wax. I find that this really helps in bringing the color out, even on a new bike. Next time out I'll try to get a better pic of the color.

Same with me. It's rare that I ride with my friends or in a group. Ever since I had my son, my schedule has been all over the place so I can't commit to any schedule. The only time I ride in a group is when I do my 24 hour mountain bike race with my team.

Very nice! Welcome to the MTB club 👍

Specialized really do make some of the best paint schemes on bikes.

Thats pretty much the same situation I've been in. I pretty much all but quit riding when my daughter was born in 2018. My wife and I would always ride together, but she hasn't really been back on her bike since then. And I very rarely got out without her.
Now, we get to start all over again come November lol. Once the kids are old enough though, they will be getting some tiny road bikes for birthday/xmas hah.

That plus the marketing machine that they are!

I signed my son up for biking lessons over the summer and even though he isn't even 5 yet, he's able to do some tricks now! Just need to get him out more so he can be more comfortable riding in public.
