Out walking the boys earlier today and spotted a familiar face out the saddle and powering up the hill, he hit the brakes and pulled over for a chat. We used to meet many times back in the day and as conversation goes it was the 'where have you been and not seen you for a while etc' and as old men go it was on to health issues and it turned out he had had the same surgery I underwent a couple of years ago but his surgeon unlike mine simply advised hime to rest up for a couple of months and then break himself back in to cycling gently.
Long story short purchased this inexpensive piece on line and hopefully arriving within the next seven days, a couple of weeks later all going well I am heading out on the roads.

Life is all to short and I intend to enjoy it 馃憤

Can highly recommend GCN's youtube channel for training / spin sessions.
If it would be useful, I can send you a few links I use if it would help the start?
Some of them use a nice visual to get you going on spin / cadence / effort which you can then monitor how you are progressing and take it at your pace, also means you don't have to listen to the godawful muzak they usually have as you can just follow the on screen prompts.

I gave my 2 y.o. granddaughter (Jan 2018) one a week ago. Here is she is using it for the 1st time. You almost have to jog to keep up with her now.
Just a quick update....when I hear whoo I know I better start running.... both of her feet will be off the ground and if I don't start running I won't catch her and she doesn't know how to use the hand brake yet. She's fallen a couple of times but wants to get up and continue....I guess a pedal bike by 2 1/2 is a possibility

Was too lazy to find this thread yesterday. Waved spanners at the 5, replaced some bearings, now sounds even worse. Pivot bearings and shock bolts next. Anyway, a test in the woods.

Gorgeous day on my favorite route from home to Lake Hefner, Oklahoma City. My ride for the road continues to be a 2018 Trek Madone 9.8.
